The CanadaPayroll Manager leads a team to support various stakeholders across the enterprise on payroll activities. Supervises team to ensure accurate and complete maintenance of payroll information to drive payroll preparation and distribution in support of business objectives.

Provides in-depth business analysis, and develops and implements long-term compliance strategies to optimize group or company performance. This role acts as an internal consultant in multiple areas of expertise regarding payroll inquiries from business partners, escalations and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership and direction for Canada Payroll Services through promoting a globally aligned and consistent approach to payroll delivery across countries
  • Ensures Canadian payroll processes are executed accurately and timely
  • Ensure the process is always audit ready and able to provide responses and data for external and internal audits
  • Proactive assessment of current process(es) to adopt and ensure proper oversight and governance to fulfill compliance and audit requirements and eliminate risk
  • Establish and maintain a good working partnership between the regional services, internal counterparts and the vendors
  • Ability to track service interruptions, determine root cause and perform analysis to proactively prevent future incidents
  • Identify issues or risk related to payroll vendors and payroll processes
  • Review and recommend changes to current payroll processes in order to enhance the productivity and efficiency of the payroll services team
  • Provide expert payroll consulting on initiatives and related projects
  • Ability to lead small to medium sized projects
  • Maintain knowledge of Canadian legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting payroll at the federal and provincial levels
  • Establish and fulfill the internal service level agreements
  • Ability to effectively communicate through lines of business
  • Manages complex escalations to minimize legal compliance consequences and impact on operations and resources
