Your Role and Responsibilities
This Marketing position leads the development and execution of marketing strategies and initiatives to drive short-term and long-term results while growing the brand objectives and delivering skills and capabilities of Systems Lab services and Systems Technical University against key brand objectives. The Marketing Manager is part of the team charged with delivering growth, visibility, value and business results while strengthening the Systems Lab Services and Systems Technical University (TechU) brand to establish mindshare of customers, business partners, and IBMers. The ideal candidate will bring energy and passion for elevating Lab Services and Systems Technical University brand through innovative thinking, collaboration, hard work and great creative execution.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: development and execution of marketing plans and initiatives, campaign management across a variety of marketing channels including online and offline, leading creative design and packaging development, management of key portfolio initiatives, agency relations/management, and direct to consumer (client, business partners, and IBMers) marketing strategy. As senior level marketing leader, the candidate must have strong analytical and creative skills and possess extensive knowledge in a variety of disciplines such as production, information technology, legal and finance.

Strategic Brand & Marketing Planning
  1. Support the Marketing department and broader organization in the development and setting of annual business objectives and strategic plans.
  2. Partner with internal and external stakeholders and agencies in the development of tactical consumer marketing plans that build brand equity and achieve business objectives.
  3. Work closely with Sales, Technical Sales, Marketing, and Other Business Units to develop strategies and recommendations to achieve brand and business objectives.
  4. Develop go-to-market strategies for new Services Offerings and Systems Technical University.
  5. Monitor trends and serve as an internal thought leader and expert in consumer marketing, brand building, consumer and market trends and competitive activity.
  6. Develop and execute search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), Display strategy driving traffic to and increasing conversions on internal and external related web sites and social media.
  7. Oversee creation of new assets, such as online content, print ads, social ads, videos, images and copy.

Marketing Activation & Initiatives
  1. Leads the day-to-day development and execution marketing initiatives and tactics, including brief development, creative reviews, production and execution.
  2. Partner with Brand Management, Sales team, Technical Sales team, and other relevant business units to ensure internal alignment against Systems Lab Services and Brand marketing objectives and tactical execution.
  3. Ensure all marketing activation are consistent with the brand positioning, message, voice and image.
  4. Manage annual marketing calendar in recognition with internal and external events.
  5. Track and measure effectiveness of marketing initiatives and tactics, making recommendations where appropriate to optimize performance.

Product Development & Portfolio Management
  1. Oversees the development of packaging, merchandising, vehicles and other creative assets including logos, labels, product shots, ...etc.
  2. Act as main contact for IBM Systems, Channel, Marketing, IBM Press, Communications team, and other relevant business.

Global Product Management team. Misc.
  1. Performs other activities as needed to support the overall Systems lab services growth strategy.
  2. Manages a team of marketing all-stars, delegating tasks and setting priorities to ensure all deadlines are met.
Rochester, MN

Required Professional and Technical Expertise
10 years of experience in marketing, product management/marketing, or brand marketing preferably in professional ad learning services
Superb analytical skills
Demonstrates and strong ability to develop, lead and inspire a team
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
Flexibility (open to changes, new ideas in ways to reach our audience)
Passionate customer advocacy
Thorough knowledge of marketing principles, brand, product and service management (in line with IBM marketing guidelines and standards)
Deep understanding of changing market dynamics
Strong skills and capabilities in shaping or creating brand positioning
Highly proficient in leading the creative development process, including brief development, reviews and production.
