 This Senior Manager Software Development will create new capabilities to improve the velocity and quality of full stack development while managing engineers and the day to day support of technology platforms, implementation, maintenance of restaurant technologies inclusive of FOH/BOH full stack technology.  Leading Agile development in alignment of core corporate roadmap strategy.

  • Actively lead and manage the Software Development Team, collaborate with multiple stakeholders in an agile environment across the business.
  • Must be able to work in an agile, fast paced, entrepreneurial environment that has short (2 week) release cycles.
  • Develop and support our products using technologies assigned for the project. Works with product managers, researchers, QA and other developers to understand requirements, application validation needs, and development standards.
  • Produces high quality and correct code to business specifications.
  • Other duties as assigned

What You’ve Got (Qualifications & Skills)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of full-stack development using Java, C# and .NET
  • AWS development/Azure experience or Cloud 
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, Microservices
  • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented programming.
  • Experience with Entity Framework.
  • Lead in an Agile environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn new concepts and software is necessary.
  • Ability to demonstrate superior coding habits and skills.
  • Excellent problem solver.

  • Experience using Jira & Git.

Requirements

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Serving as the enterprise subject matter expert (SME) for the Dine Brands Global POS/payments and related restaurant tech.
  • Building and managing the relationships with all key external POS and technology providers and vendor partners, including statement of work and contract development
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders and franchisee stakeholders at all levels to understand and address their business needs and concerns
  • Serving as liaison to internal and external partners to ensure the prompt resolution of all issues and requests escalated to the POS/ Applicable teams
  • Providing guidance and management for the creation of support, testing, and change management processes for the POS/ Systems environment to minimize operational risk while providing maximum transparency to stakeholders
  • Ensuring all system changes are fully documented the appropriate user communities are trained prior to implementation and help desk turnover
  • Acting as the IT management lead for back office application projects and implementations where POS/ Systems coordination is needed
  • Working as a key product team member to provide technical expertise with developing and implementing new product requirements.
  • Assessing, mapping, and documenting new workflows
  • Providing liaison with suppliers and vendor partners on issues pertaining to routine and ad hoc maintenance, technical support and development
  • Working with other members the IT department to ensure that interfaces with non-POS/ Restaurant applications and third-party products are properly designed, documented, and tested
  • Work with suppliers and vendors, and customers to implement new applications or new modules within existing applications
  • Identifying suitable new and emerging restaurant technologies, developing business cases and coordinating proof of concepts
  • Providing support outside core hours for extended support during project implementations when required by the business
  • Partnering with the IT Leadership, Security and VP IT, Infrastructure to ensure reliable and secure restaurant connectivity, PCI compliance, and compliance with security best practices
  • Partnering with key departments outside of IT, such as Operations and Marketing, to define, establish and implement best practices and procedures for POS, back office operations, loyalty platforms (e.g., menu management, new items, coupons, redemptions, etc.)

Qualifications Required

  • B. S. in computer science, engineering, statistics, data science, or technical equivalent
  • Eight or more years of software development experience, or Graduate Degree and six or more years of software development experience. 
  • Hands on experience with modern software process approaches, including Agile, DevOps, and/or instrumentation of the Software Factory.
  • Five or more years experience leading Senior Level Software Development Engineers supporting multiple products
  • Three or more years project leadership or management experience in a technical discipline
  • Experience with the software SDLC, and software process methodologies.
  • Training and/or experience in the software systems life-cycle.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
