Job Summary

This role is responsible for leading the eHealth online application IT development teams that builds applications for Walgreens.com. These teams develop features to enable our customers pharmacy and heath care needs on Walgreens.com as well as via services for use with the Walgreens mobile app and third party apps'.

Manages strategic program initiatives for the division. Defines and implements both short- and long-term strategic plans for various businesses within eCommerce. Provides consultative leadership to achieve cross-functional alignment and collaboration necessary to execute strategy. Oversees the day-to-day work of business analyst(s) in tracking metrics, identifying trends and preparing presentations. Provides strategic insight into competitor strategies, market trends, pricing, product offerings and customer experiences by performing ongoing competitive and trend analyses. Creates and prepares reporting, and formulates business analytics in support of assigned strategic initiatives; provides feedback on key performance measures. Collaborates with team to define long-term tracking mechanisms and oversees implementation. Drives preparation of quarterly functional business review for assigned ecommerce area(s), to include working with cross-functional stakeholders to align goals; structuring, coordinating and delivering analysis of business area performance and identified trends. Prepares and presents strategic recommendations to divisional senior management.

Job Responsibilities
  • Accountable for the management of the daily operational activities that develop and implement multiple components / processes for a specified section of work or a major section of work within the digital space, such as Merchandising, eHealth, Photo, User Experience, Strategy, Operations, On-line Technology and/or Marketing.
  • Performs as subject matter advisor to functional area and may become actively involved, as required, to meet schedules and resolve problems highly complex in nature.
  • Develops protocols to support established standards. Oversees team(s) assigned to projects and may manage implementations.
  • Shares information cross-functionally to improve workflow processes. Interacts with direct reports and peers in management / customers / vendors to share information and improve cross-departmental processes.
  • Oversees the development of technical/business approaches and new or enhanced technical tools.
  • Makes recommendations for specified area of responsibility regarding the operating plans of the functional unit, then, based on prevailing conditions may realign the daily operations of assigned functional area.
  • Develops budget for functional area. Accountable for area budget and delivering against business goals/objectives.
  • Reviews reports and metrics and identifies opportunities to grow and optimize consumer awareness, market share and/or specified initiatives. . Reviews and analyzes the competitive marketplace for patterns and trends and may make recommendations/adjustments to operational activities based upon identified information.
  • Oversees and manages managers, supervisors and individual contributors. Allocates available resources to meet operating objectives. Ensures the ongoing training and development of direct reports. Develops and mentors staff through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; builds and maintains employee morale and motivation; ensures the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies; fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in Merchandising, Marketing, eCommerce, Healthcare, Strategy, Finance, IT and/or Operations OR High school / GED and at least 8 years of experience in Merchandising, Marketing, eCommerce, Healthcare, Strategy, Finance, IT and/or Operations.
  • Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, including the executive level.
  • Experience analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
  • Experience identifying operational issues, recommending, and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience interacting at the executive level.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Online Technology experience developing transactional applications
  • Healthcare related experience
  • Experience with ATG or other online technology platforms
  • Experience with MongoDB or other no-sql BD
  • Experience with Spring Boot
  • At least 3 years of experience in business or corporate consulting
  • At least 3 years of corporate, ecommerce, or retail strategy consulting experience preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in a project-based environment, to include project scoping and defining deliverables.
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font).
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).
