Your Role and Responsibilities

Would you like to challenge yourself in becoming an advisor and orchestrator for proactive, transformative large deals focused on delivering business value?
The Market Maker Apex Program is a new entrepreneurial group within IBM that has been established to act as a sales engine for C-Suite sponsored business outcomes. The program bridges IBMs Digital Reinvention capabilities with Global Market and GBS account team preparation, delivery and follow-up for top-to-top briefings. We are charged with understanding and confirm c-suite priorities and develop IBM offers to convert and win 100 million dollar opportunities. We have a view into IBMs reusable and continuously improving assets that enable compelling C-Suite engagements to develop and demonstrate powerful solutions crafted by our industry SMEs leveraging IBMs scalable and industry specific platforms.
We are a multi-disciplinary group with expertise in digital strategy, executive narrative, sales and aggressive bench marking. Our team has aggressive pipeline and sales targets and operates globally and cross-sector.
We are looking for a similarly minded Engagement Manager with a strong Financial Services background to lead the formulation of big deals from incubation through orals. Specialization in Payments or Insurance is a desirable but not necessary. Creativity and depth in thought, high motivation and drive, and ability to engage senior stakeholders both internally and externally are essential personal qualities required for this role.
  • Represent the Apex team and lead the engagement with a cross IBM team of consultants, SMEs, delivery executives and contracting teams while retaining focus on driving large, transformational deals from inception through close.
  • Focus on driving growth and share of wallet with IBMs Elite, Premiere and Integrated Accounts.
  • Develop an understanding of the competitive landscape and key market influencers inclusive of offering capabilities, consumability, and go-to-market strategies
  • Collaborate directly with global sales and engagement executives to identify, shape, lead and deliver proposals for transformation projects with new and existing accounts.
  • Drive customer socialization and validation through client meetings, demos, POCs etc. confirming that client requirements are addressed by the delivered solution, in close coordination with the IBM account teams and SMEs
  • Support IBM GBS's Chief Market Maker and leadership in client engagements and key business initiatives

Required Professional and Technical Expertise
  • 8+ years of experience in a top tier consulting or with banking/insurance companies
  • 5+ years of experience in research, analysis and competitive benchmarking, proposal and solution development
  • Domain knowledge of Banking and/or Insurance. Exposure to one or more areas such as Payments, Digital Transformation, Life Insurance, Claims Processing, Wealth management.
  • Working knowledge and commercial understanding of proposals, contracts and RFP process.
  • Ability to deliver and communicate effective presentations of findings and recommendations from data and analyses to multiple levels of leadership

Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise
  • Masters Degree
  • Awareness of technologies such as AI, RPA, BI & Analytics, Cloud etc. is a plus
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with C-suite audience
