Senior Director, Product Management– Pharmacy Platforms

Job Summary
This role designs, plans, develops and manages a product or portfolio of products throughout the solution portfolio lifecycle: from new product definition or enhancements to existing products; planning, design, forecasting, and production; to end of life. Leads a team that works to quickly design and deliver systems while maintaining a constant customer focus and is responsible for the customer voice. Utilizing the knowledge of customer voice, this role will work with design, technical and business leaders to set strategy and define the product. This role will work to balance the business needs with technical constraints.

Job Responsibilities
  • This role works with design, technical and business leaders to set strategy and define the product. Leads and drives the end to end strategy and operational product roadmap for one or more complex products or a product portfolio.
  • Builds and delivers the value proposition, target customer segments, and business case to bring innovative and disruptive products to market for a product portfolio with respect to the whole company product portfolio (i.e. Product configuration mix, Revenue/Margins, financials, market share).
  • Synthesizes market requirements into marketing/customer details through having intimate customer knowledge and business, financial and industry market acumen.
  • Guides key stakeholders on the portfolio strategy across all phases of the lifecycle (e.g., planning, development, launch, management, and exit).
  • Creates and drives goal alignment and collaborates across one or more products' value chain partners to optimize margins and enable success of products per plans across the product lifecycle. (ie. Engineering: product development, Supply Chain: SKUs, inventory and Marketing: marketing and pricing strategies and Go To Market Plan).
  • Collaborates with engineering teams to drive the product roadmaps. Clarifies and drives project commitments as well as establishing and maintaining clear chains of accountability.
  • Works with enterprise customers to understand their use cases and their existing solutions. Plays a key contributor role in the development and execution oversight of critical strategic processes, such as road-mappings, technology delivery strategy, organizational strategy and capabilities Ensures that investments in technology are appropriate to the developments in the industry and produce satisfactory returns. Adjusts the product to support changing business directions.
  • Uses technical knowledge to anticipate and understand the implications of the latest technologies to communicate and evangelize them to appropriate audiences and to integrate these technologies appropriately into products and programs. Addresses bottlenecks, provides customer input, anticipates and makes tradeoffs in order to balance the business needs against technical constraints.
  • Partner with multiple teams across multiple locations with varying sets of priorities to ensure a timely delivery of the solution.
  • Sets financial, operational and quality objectives for the unit and develops master operational plans. Plans, develops and manages departmental expense and capital budgets.
  • Develops short- and long-range product and service strategies and plans. Oversees the execution of operating plans for specified area of responsibility.
  • Performs as an idea generator, working with others as a thought leader and subject- matter expert to help brainstorm new processes and solutions. Works closely with UX, Product Leads and the business. Shares highly complex information related to areas of expertise. Interacts with senior management to keep abreast of objectives. Transfers knowledge and collaborates across functional lines and/or across departments. Interacts with direct reports and peers in management / customers / vendors to interpret information and improve cross-functional processes and programs. Builds and enhances key internal and external contacts.
  • Directs through directors and managers who mentor, coach and evaluate their responsive teams and develop employees through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; builds and maintains employee morale and motivation; ensures the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies; fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Basic Qualifications
Basic Qualifications

  • BachelorĂ¢€™s degree and at least 8 years of experience leading a team that builds large-scale distributed systems OR a High School Diploma/GED and at least 11 years of experience leading a team that builds large scale distributed systems.
  • At least 5 years of product management experience
  • Experience working with agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures
  • Experience working in a Software Development Team
  • Experience driving/influencing cross functional work through others.
  • Experience in cost efficient solution building, financial performance metric creation and analysis
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis and problem detection
  • Experience communicating technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • At least 5 years of experience planning, developing, and managing departmental expense and capital budgets.
  • At least 5 years of experience directly managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
