Our client is currently seeking a Senior Data Analyst / Analytics Engineer for a 6 month contract opportunity located in San Francisco, CA.

Qualifications:

Senior Data Analyst / Analytics Engineer

Data analysis:

  • Excellent analytical and problem sloving skills.
  • Have proactive and strategic thinking and ability to align research with the business and innovate research output.

Modeling concepts:

  • Machine Learning, Time series analysis, Clustering, Generalized Linear and Additive Models, Nonlinear Regression, Classification, Neural Networks, Decision trees, Text mining, OCR Computer

Programming:

  • Excellent programming skills for complex algorithms.
  • Must have good SQL skills.
  • Programming languages: Python (Primary), Must have Python experience on Hadoop and Pyspark.
  • Good to have SAS or R experience (secondary)
  • Other tools & DB: SAS, SQL (Netezza, SQL Server, Teradata), R, Excel Utility or regulated industry experience (preferred)

Responsibilities:

The Senior Data Analyst / Analytics Engineer will work with the Regulatory Affairs department to deliver analytical models to support rate case filings. The resource must have programming experience with statistical analysis and modeling projects. The resource must be comfortable interacting and communicating with both Business and IT project team members and needs to be a self-starter. The Data Analyst/Engineer must have expertise in mathematics and applied statistics with programming skills to create predictive models and tools on large scale data sets (in tens of TB) and operationalize the models on Big data clusters on AWS.
