Overview of the Role

The International Strategic Initiatives is an enterprise-wide function and is responsible for (a) leading / supporting strategic initiatives for international business across Wells Fargo, and (b) leading / facilitating the strategic planning process for Wells Fargos international business. The group works closely with a number of business units, support groups and regional leadership teams involved in international activities. All of the strategic initiatives are international oriented with high strategic impact and many are cross-organizational in nature. Examples include development of business unit strategy, market assessment, market entry strategy development, and establishment of new legal entities. Strategic planning is conducted annually and involves all lines of business and support groups across Wells Fargo that are engaged in international activities.

Position Summary

Reporting to a Senior Vice President and International Strategic Initiatives Lead for EMEA, this position is based in London. This position is responsible for supporting senior leaders of the team as they facilitate strategic planning exercise and lead various strategic initiatives. He/she gathers facts, conducts various kinds of analysis, contributes to the development of solutions and recommendations, and helps develop written materials to document analysis and recommendations based on guidance from senior members of the International Strategic Initiatives. He/she works with junior members of partner organizations from business units and support groups.

  • Support leaders of International Strategic Initiatives in leading international initiatives, working with representatives from various organizations.
  • Conduct various analyses by structuring the work and gathering necessary information which sometimes requires creative approach.
  • Participate in global and regional strategy planning efforts.
  • Help develop project plans, frame and conduct insightful analyses, identify solutions, and develop a business case and an implementation plan.
  • Help support implementation of developed solutions / plans, as necessary.
  • Assist with preparing discussion documents for various senior leaders meetings.
  • Support the development of international dashboard on a monthly basis.
  • Monitor industry and global trends to assess possible implications and impact.
  • Conduct research and support competitive intelligence activities for international businesses, particularly the International Division.
  • Help facilitate a consistent and coordinated communications plan and messaging across business units and support groups with international activities.
  • Build strong partnership with junior members of business units and support groups.
  • Operates at all time with an enterprise mindset to ensure alignment, consistency and shareholder value.
