job summary:

Client is looking for a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer to deliver technical solutions using leading edge technologies and industry best practices to implement and promotes cloud platforms. The candidate will advocate automation to create reliable, repeatable, performant and cost-effective solutions for project deliverables. Responsibilities are to design and automate CI/CD process for Mange File Transfer infrastructure and applications; provide consultant services to consumers; in order to deliver consumer driven cloud services solutions.

responsibilities:

The Engineer will be responsible for:

- Participates in development of enterprise engineering solutions on IBM MFT applications (Sterling File Transfer, Connect Direct, Secure Proxy and Control Center) targeted to meet existing, enhanced, and new service platform solutions for business and infrastructure services.

- Participates in creation of engineering solutions for new technology. Designs and models services for inter-networking and client converged networks. Systems analysis efforts; performs engineering design for proper integration of product or service solution.

- To Identify and recommend solution enhancements required for effective integration of technical design.

- Participates in advanced knowledge sharing and recommendations for specific product or service, with consideration for impact within a MFT network.

- Troubleshoots, resolves, and recommends improvement for systems, network, and security problems at an advanced level across multiple technology solutions, services, and platforms.

- Coordinates the maintenance and modification of systems. Leads or provides guidance for advanced technical support for specific areas of expertise.

- For specific areas of expertise, develops or applies capacity and resource planning to optimize new and expand existing managed file transfer systems.

- Creates, directs, and integrates technical team solutions or efforts targeted for performance improvement, expansion, and procedures within specific areas of expertise.

- Participates to develop new solutions and integrated service offerings to meet large-scale or enterprise projects or service requirements.

- Good Knowledge of UNIX, LINUX

 
qualifications:
  • Participates in development of enterprise engineering solutions on IBM MFT applications (Sterling File Transfer, Connect Direct, Secure Proxy and Control Center) targeted to meet existing, enhanced, and new service platform solutions for business and infrastructure services.
  • Solving problems with automation by creating toolchains to provide insight and metrics to customers/projects
  • Utilize engineering and programming skills focused on enabling a DevOps model
  • Selecting/creating the appropriate technologies and utilizing and socializing it's best practice
  • Deliver repeatable, reliable systems using automation and domain specific tooling
  • SME on MFT platforms and associated technologies
  • Actively contributing to internal projects such as tooling, blogs, documentations
  • Participate in and provide feedback on systems engineering and design
  • Streamline deployment of infrastructure into consumable services
  • Provide input on the future execution of the delivery and management of environments with a strong emphasis on automation, security, scalability and resiliency
  • Provide tier 2 support for the MFT; including on-call tier 2 support
  • Mentor team members to improve community

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or technical college diploma in a technical field or equivalent experience
  • At least 3 to 5 years experience with Sterling File Gateway, Sterling B2B integrator, and IBM Control Center
  • Demonstrable cross-functional knowledge with Systems, Storage, Networking and Database
  • System administration skills, including automation, orchestration for (Unix/Linux/Windows) using (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt Stack, etc.) and/or containers (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Proficiency in shell scripts, Perl Java, Python, Ruby, Go
  • Proficiency with continuous integration and delivery
  • Familiarity with software development methods and techniques
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must be a team player
  • Boundless passion for technology and a willingness to learn and teach
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Migrate applications from on premise to cloud service providers utilizing CI/CD pipelines

  • Experience with IPSWITCH/MoveIT a plus
  • DevOps focused engineer with experience in LEAN principles
  • Tokenization
  • Cloud Platform experience (AWS/Azure)
  • Experience working within an agile framework
