Advises and recommends areas of program planning, business requirements management, budget execution and program coordination. Prepares needs assessment. Validates resource requirements and develops cost estimate models.


Conducts and coordinates financial, product, market, operational, and related research to support strategic and business planning within the various departments and programs of the client group. Interprets, evaluates, and interrelates research data, and develops integrated business analyses and projections for incorporation into strategic decision-making.


Plans and coordinates the development of primary and secondary market research studies in support of strategic planning and specific marketing initiatives, as required, and presents findings of studies to client committees. Provides consultative, advisory, technical, and staff support, as appropriate. Ability to use survey and market research methodologies, systems, and techniques.


Experience Level: BA or BS required plus minimum 6+ years of direct relevant experience.


The Business Analyst is responsible for gathering, documenting and analyzing business requirements as we develop digital experiences that bring value to our consumers through Agile methodology.


Successful candidates for the BA role are self-motivated, excel at effective communication, focus on robust, value-driven problem solving, build strong relationships with a broad range of business and IT partners, and have an eye for detail without losing sight of the overall consumer-driven needs. Bachelor's degree required / masters preferred


Key Responsibilities


1. Serve as a key Subject Matter Expert (SME) for key digital products and capabilities


2. Interview, investigate, and elicit requirements from a variety of stakeholders, including technical, operations, and business process owners and Subject Matter Experts


3. Manage (e.g. create/write, edit, update, maintain version control) appropriate business documentation to support development needs, including Agile user stories, workflows, error matrices, gap analyses, screenshots, product training materials, and known product issues


4. Collaborate with Agile Product Owners in user story development, including research and information gathering from multiple stakeholders including business partners, creative services, and IT teams to produce consumable requirements


5. Work with other Client team members to drive to robust solutions that meet the evolving needs of the consumer and the business and that factor in consumer value, systems dependencies and limitations, current state functionality and operational opportunities and constraints


6. Provide ongoing consultation to development teams to clarify business requirements


7. Assist project team with various elements throughout the development lifecycle, including test data requests, creating User Acceptance Test (UAT) scripts, conducting UAT, logging defects, conducting stakeholder demos, and creating and tracking defects


8. Participate in high-level capability definition exercises during the project Discovery phase to aid with level of effort estimation


9. Partner with IT and Operations stakeholders to determine requirement implementation feasibility


10. Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources to identify high value needs, requirement gaps and to reconcile conflicts and requirement feasibility


11. Ability to both decompose high-level information into more detailed requirements that can be prioritized and release planned and to abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding of the requirement


12. Distinguish user requirements that are must-haves versus user requests that are not critical to development


13. Validate that the customer experience meets the customer and business requirements


14. Support on-the-fly functional adjustments due to compliance, development issues, defect resolution, etc.


Required Skills:


- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication with both technical and business audiences


- Demonstrate strategic thinking by using appropriate information to diagnose problems, identify possible solutions and collaborate with impacted groups to drive decisions


- Self-directed and able to drive detailed solutions to completion with minimal oversight


- Experience in writing business requirements for web, mobile and/or multi-tier systems


- Experience in working with Agile/Scrum work environment and familiarity with writing user stories, and following the development process through user story acceptance


- Extensive experience in documenting current and "to-be" state behaviors and logical workflows


- Proficiency with Visio, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint


- Experience with defect tracking management systems (e.g. Quality Center, Bugzilla, etc.)


- Strong attention to detail and track record of producing quality work


- Ability to be a solid member of a cross-functional team


- A great work ethic and a reasonable sense of humor
