Perspectas Civilian, State and Local segment partners with the U.S. Federal Civilian State and Local governments to provide infrastructure services, business solutions, and digital transformation services that help them achieve policy objectives and integrate citizen-centric services.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information.
  • Identify and define system security requirements and design appropriate architecture.
  • Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities, enrich data and automate repeatable tasks.
  • Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes and propositions for further system security enhancement.
  • Liaison with security vendors.
  • Develop scripts to simplify data collection and other laborious tasks that are necessary to occur throughout the scanning and vulnerability assessment process.
  • Evaluate the latest vulnerability, network discovery, penetration, and other security evaluation tools.

Qualifications

Requires 5 to 8 years with BS/BA or 3 to 5 years with MS/MA or 0 to 2 years with PhD.

  • An Associate's Degree in an appropriate area or at least 5 years IT experience
  • Ability to design, program, simulate and test automated scripts for a variety of tasks.
  • Extremely strong technical knowledge in software development, computer programming, security engineering, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, cryptography and application security.
  • Experience working in an agile development environment.
  • Detailed technical knowledge of database and operating system security.
  • Experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, malware defense, threat detection, log management, content filtering, etc.
  • Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a team environment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Must be able to pass a Federal background investigation.

Skills Preferred but not required:

  • Possess applicable certifications, preferred being:
    • RHCE
    • VMWare Certification
  • Experience with various programming languages, such as Python, Java, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with automation with Ansible, Chef, Terraform, or similar tools.
  • Experience with testing with tools like Selenium or Cucumber.
  • Knowledge of Windows/Linux operating systems.
  • Experience defining security requirements.
  • Deep understanding of the following tools: Splunk, McAfee Security Solutions, or Tanium.
  • Scanning and evaluation tools: Nessus, Retina, Wireshark, NMAP, etc.
  • Knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques.
