Scrum Master

Essential Duties:

Guiding the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers

o Guiding the eam on how to get the most out of self-organization

Guiding the team on self-organizing to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks

o Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.

o Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving.

Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.

o Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution o Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information

o Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog.

o Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example

- Required Skills/Experience First level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I)

o Contribute to the Enterprise implementation and optimization of Client Agile Scrum-based software development alternative to waterfall

o Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least one year for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.

o Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency

o Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach

o Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games

o Excellent communication and mentoring skills

o Evangelize Agile best practices and support development of Agile culture Bonus

o Second level Scrum Master certification (CSP, PSM II)

o Experience moving teams and organizations from Waterfall to Agile methodologies / Agile Transformations o Scaling Agile o Education Requirement: Bachelor Degree.

Required Qualifications: Graduation from a four -year college or university or 5 years experience in lieu of a degree.1-4 years experience with project concepts and practices. Work experience in addition to degree: 1-3 years of Scrum Master experience. Scrum Master certification (CSM). Proficient in multiple Agile frameworks (e.g Scrum, Kanban).

Preferred Qualifications: Experience moving teams and organizations from waterfall to Agile methodologies. Excellent written, verbal, and electronic communication skills. Interacts effectively with others at all levels of the organization; makes persuasive and informative presentations.
