Contract position: Engineering client is looking for an Environmental Scientist with 3-7 years of experience for a Temp to Perm assignment based out of Kansas City, MO. You will support the permitting process for multiple remediation projects. Client prefers candidates that are local to Kansas City.

Responsibilities for the Scientist
  • Review and validation of contracted environmental analytical services to determine compliance with published analytical methods and to evaluate usability of the data per USEPA guidance
  • Develop written reports of data validation findings
  • Assist in development of project Work Plans and Quality Assurance Project Plans, to include providing guidance to the project team on the selection of appropriate analytical methods
  • Assist project teams with analytical laboratory bid preparation and solicitation
  • Day-to-day coordination between field teams and contracted analytical laboratories to track shipping and receipt of samples, appropriate laboratory log-in, and achievement of project data quality objectives
  • Develop and maintain project analytical result databases
  • Perform statistical analysis of chemical analytical data for various trends
  • Field work to include sampling of soil, groundwater, and/or air matrices to support environmental testing programsRequirements for the Scientist

    • You need 4+ years of experience as an Environmental Scientist, Permitting Specialist, or similar title with a focus on developing permitting strategies and schedules
    • BS degree in a natural resources field, environmental science, Biology or related field from an accredited program is needed
    • You need experience testing water samples
    • Familiarity with ADR and/or EQuIS software
    • Knowledge of USEPA, state, and federal environmental regulations
    • Familiarity with USEPA analytical methods, including SW-846, CWA, air compendium methods
    • Knowledge of USEPA data verification and validation guidance
    • Knowledge of environmental laboratory accreditation programs (NELAP, state, DoD QSM)
    • Experience performing organic and/or inorganic environmental analytical testsBenefits
