job summary:

The SAP BASIS Administrator at will be in support of multiple business and operational locations in North America. Role is the primary contact for resolving technical problems covering multiple SAP landscapes, while assuring the highest level of stability, support and system reliability. Infrastructure team's charter is to support 24/7 Business continuity by managing SAP platform running Business processes, ensuring legal compliance and protecting SAP landscape from all security risks. As a member of SAP Basis team, responsible for the support of all SAP systems (ECC, EWM, OTC, PO, PP, BPC and Solution Manager) and several bolt-on applications. key activities will include tiered support, incident management, analysis, troubleshooting, oversight and guidance for BASIS function, and drive SAP operations initiatives (e.g. Archiving, SAP Upgrade etc).

  • Daily administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and tuning of all SAP environments (ECC 6, EWM, Solman, SAP HANA 1.0 & 2.0).
  • SAP Security Architecture design and administration
  • Perform SAP software installation, upgrades, applying support packages, system copies/refreshes and installation of add-on software components.
  • Respond to and resolve infrastructure related incidents & problems.
  • Work with OS & DB Administrators to optimize SAP Application and Database performance.
  • Provide Support and Guidance, as required, to Project teams during build, test and production GoLive.
  • Provide support for Disaster Recovery and localized HA testing based on the mandated policies.
  • Provide all aspects of technical support for SAP Basis Administration in proactive and reactive modes, to ensure that SAP systems perform at optimized level to meet or exceed SLAs.
  • Analyze daily system health checks across all SAP landscapes and provide various proactive measures to reduce any Audit or security breaches including availability of SAP Applications.
  • Perform Early watch analysis and implement solutions or corrections as per SAP guidelines.
  • 8 plus years hands-on SAP BASIS Administration experience
  • Experience in administering SAP NetWeaver Technology including current releases of ECC6, GRC, BPC, and Solution Manager
  • Maintenance of multi-landscape environments through client copies, system refreshes, transport management and system extension
  • Installation of SAP Software Release upgrades, support packs and SAP-Kernel-Updates
  • Performance tuning of SAP Environments to ensure the efficient and secure operation of the SAP systems
  • Knowledge of Solution Manager and performance monitoring
  • Experience with SAP running on HANA Database
  • Understanding and execution of instance/client strategies in accordance with SAP best practices
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills to ensure high availability of SAP applications
  • Experience with SAP running on HANA Database, HANA Studio,
  • Strong analytical experience in system administration and performance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot user authorization problems for FI/CO, SD, MM, EWM & PP
  • SAP-Basis-Support of SAP ECC and EWM and coordination of SAP quality checks to ensure efficient use of all SAP HW, SW, OS, and DB
  • Full life-cycle implementation experience using SAP methodology
  • Design and implementation of SAP data archiving strategies
  • Configuration and Use of SAP-GRC-Workflows and VIRSA fire fighters
  • User administration, multi data source configuration, role management through GRC
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills to clearly communicate complex technical concepts with IT Analysts and Management

  • Testing including unit, development, integration and user acceptance
  • Cutover/ Data Conversions
  • Post Go-Live Support
