Looking for a Salesforce Technical Business Analyst- someone who can do BA work, but also has some technical experience/background and can work with development teams.

This is a role for someone who wants to get into a Salesforce development/architect role in the future.

Looking for someone with strong Salesforce experience. Will be working between different groups (development, fundraising, finance). This will be working in the middle of production support and development

Someone with some technical experience would be beneficial or Salesforce certification (a plus, not required). Will have some Configurations and Data Migration responsibilities.

Must have strong communication, strong ability to work with clients, and strong documentation skills, along with experience supporting salesforce platform.


The Salesforce Technical Business Analyst will work with our business partners to gather, document, analyze, and validate requirements. S/he will be a liaison with stakeholders to understand the goals, objectives, policies, and processes of an organization, and to recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals. We are looking for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy leading and participating in complex efforts to improve business processes and technical performance.

In keeping with the organization's values, the Salesforce Technical Business Analyst will also have the opportunity to interact with students as an advisor, group facilitator, and advocate, participating in creating and sustaining a positive educational environment.


Systems and Strategy

  • Document requirements, business processes, define scope and objectives, and formulate systems to parallel overall business strategies
  • Quickly develop a broad understanding of the business issues and long-term strategy
  • Identify organizational strengths and weaknesses and suggest areas of improvement
  • Design, configure, test and deploy Salesforce.com functionality along with other CRM platforms supported at the organization.
  • Ability to define and create POCs using the salesforce.com platform and other CRM platforms supported at the organization.
  • Communicate effectively with clients in collaboration with IT Project Manager to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions
  • Partner with IT peers to develop complex user, functional and system design specifications
  • Assist the project team with user acceptance testing, including, but not limited to, creating test cases and scenarios.

Teamwork and Leadership

  • Generate enthusiasm among team members and facilitate effective team interaction
  • Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen inter-department relationships
  • Manage expectations effectively
  • Act as a liaison between business users and project team
  • Serve as a mentor to other Business Analysts, as needed

Site Team/Learning Community Member

  • Serve as an advisor/mentor for a small number of current students
  • Join and sometimes facilitate weekly group sessions with students
  • Participate in staff meetings and trainings


  • Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent work experience; Advanced degree typical/preferred
  • At least 3 - 5 years of Business Analysis experience;
  • At least 3 years of Salesforce Business Analysis experience;
  • Salesforce Administrator certification is preferred;
  • Experience with Salesforce NPSP a plus;
  • Extensive familiarity with waterfall project methodology and development lifecycle from technical documentation to development to testing;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a matrix organization
  • Ability to critically evaluate complex information gathered from multiple sources, drive decisions, create detailed specs from high-level information, abstract up from low-level information, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
  • Working knowledge of data modeling, user interface, business logic, and security for custom applications, including user permissions and profiles
  • Implementation and maintenance experience with Salesforce custom objects, workflows, and triggers
  • Proficiency in Salesforce data migrations, data cleansing, technical and data transfers across environments, Salesforce reporting, and support of Salesforce dashboards
  • Familiarity with Salesforce design best practices.
