Marketing Technologist -- Job Description




As a key liaison responsible for partnering with a variety of internal stakeholders and vendors, this position requires someone who possesses extensive hands-on experience with digital marketing technologies that drives and nurtures interest and generates high-quality leads and conversions. This individual must possess the ability to scope core business objectives properly and desired outcomes for each respective project, then develop, deploy, monitor, optimize, and communicate campaign performance leveraging reporting tools residing within our sales and marketing technology stack.


The ideal candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, be able to consistently collaborate well with others of varying skill sets and competencies both virtually and face-to-face and meet or exceed project timelines and expectations in a complex, fast-paced, and results-driven environment.




  • Partners with key stakeholders across multiple functional teams -- some of whom have had little or no experience with or exposure to digital marketing technologies such as Eloqua and Salesforce.com -- to discuss, strategize, develop, deploy, optimize, and measure sales/marketing/nurture campaign and program performance against desired goals.


  • Creates and uploads emails, landing pages, static assets, images, videos, forms, dynamic content, merge fields, custom data objects, and data-sets for used for personalized and non-personalized communications following established organizational procedures.


  • Develops and implements complex account and contact segmentation methods dedicated to developing sophisticated data-driven targeting strategies which trigger optimal engagement within all applied digital marketing channels supported by underlying campaigns, nurture programs, and lead generation strategies.


  • Performs effective pre-deployment quality control review processes both individually and with stakeholders to validate asset content/messaging, brand compliance, deployment timelines, cadence, volume, behavior-based contact routing journey.


  • Consistently applies lead generation and routing processes according to well-established organizational procedures and standards and collaborates with Marketing Operations as required for ad hoc consultative support services.


  • Extracts, shapes, and communicates key data-driven insights and interaction signals from platforms in our technology stack relevant to desired business goals, and interprets, identifies and resolves technical gaps which impact sales and marketing campaign effectiveness.


  • Desires active involvement with mastering and improving best practices, methods, techniques, tactics, and strategies to optimize market-facing user experience, positive engagement outcomes, and influence on sales results, and identifies gaps, recommends process improvements and maintains a continuous focus on optimal alignment between desired and actual outcomes.



Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required. A master's degree is preferred.




A minimum of 5-7 years of direct hands-on experience with marketing automation platforms focused on driving sales demand via single, multi-touch, and Multi/Omni-Channel, ABM, data-driven campaigns and programs. A proven track record of developing and executing, monitoring, measuring and continuously improving complex sales and marketing programs leveraging Eloqua or equivalent platform. Experience with Salesforce.com, Workfront, Ion Interactive, Pathfactory, Optimizely, Tableau, Cognos, Google Analytics, Dreamweaver and other marketing technologies is a plus.


Excellent technical, oral and written communication skills required; ability to develop and foster trusted relationships and interface with multiple vendors concurrently. Outstanding attention to detail and time management skills and the ability to solve complex technical and operational challenges associated with digital marketing technologies and processes. Ability to work independently and collaboratively both virtually and in-person with team members and stakeholders in an ever-changing environment and works well under pressure and performs at a high-level within a results-driven organization.
