Contract position: Client involved in high voltage Substation & Transmission Line construction projects is looking for a few Construction Health & Safety Specialists to support utility substation & transmission line EPC projects throughout the US. The ideal candidate has construction site safety experience supporting high voltage transmission line or substation EPC projects. Client will pay for mob, demob, R&R & per diem.

Responsibilities for the Safety Manager

*Provide Health & Safety support to high voltage substation and/or transmission line EPC projects in OH, PA, NJ, WA, FL, TX & OK.
*Provide full-time support in the field, on construction projects, to assure operations are planned and conducted in a safe manner
*Interface with the subcontractors, the customer & internal support groups to ensure that the project safety requirements & specifications are met
*Provide advice, guidance, and assistance to personnel involved in projects regarding safety and health issues and work practices
*Interface with Client Safety & Health Department on site safety & health issues and coordinate preventative measures
*Facilitates adherence to safety policies & procedures while maintaining compliance with the local, state, & federal OSHA rules & regulations
*Coordinate & mentor project safety & health walk-through assessments and then review any assessment findings with appropriate parties & follow up by documenting the items which require immediate correction
*Review and complete, as necessary, Near Miss, Incident and Accident Investigation reports and recommend countermeasures as appropriateRequirements for the Safety Manager



*10+ years of experience as a Site Safety Specialist working in the field on power plant or similar heavy industrial construction projects
*2-5+ years of specific safety & health experience supporting high voltage Substation or Transmission Line construction projects
*A BS degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or Construction Management is a PLUS
*A Certified Utility Safety Professsional (CUSP) is a PLUS
*Must have strong knowledge of OSHA Construction, OSHA General Industry, ANSI, NIOSH and NEC Standards
*You must have experience interfacing with different regulatory agencies and must be able to interpret regulatory documents
*OSHA 30hr training is requiredBenefits
