Job Description:

The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for planning and executing the quality effort for IT implementations to ensure solutions meet the appropriate quality standard prior to production launch. Responsible for completing assigned testing duties with the ability to work on 2-3 projects simultaneously - of varying size and complexity (small, medium or large). Execution of current testing processes and procedures, including defined deliverable , following IT department standards to ensure application is functioning as designed.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Creating Test Plans, Test Scenarios and Test Cases
  • Analyzing, documenting, and reporting errors and providing supporting evidence
  • Responsible for gaining thorough understanding of business processes from a user's perspective and using that knowledge to create thorough test cases
  • Complying with IT standards, practices and methodologies etc...
  • Creating and execution of positive and negative test cases that can be traced directly back to functional requirements
  • Responsible for regression testing and building a regression test suite
  • Creating test data as needed
  • Responsible for facilitating regular review sessions to ensure quality standards are applied in document creation and test execution
  • Understanding the release process and QAs role in ensuring consistency through development of required testing documentation
  • Providing accurate testing estimates
  • Working closely with the project team and IT team members to prioritize levels of effort
  • Working with User Groups as directed, supporting User Acceptance Testing as needed
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts and Developers as needed to ensure successful deployments
  • Responsible for attaining full knowledge of functional area, actively contributing to the overall success of the IT department, active participation in meetings, and regular status updates to management.


  • Creates and execute QA test plans, test scenarios and test cases for change requests and projects. Performing QA testing duties in various system environments (PeopleSoft, web applications, CRM, etc.) and as part of various project implementations (Software development, third party application, Mobile development, Infrastructure, etc.)
  • Analyze requirements and other supporting application documents, report QA statistics
  • Collaborates with IT team members and the business to plan, document, and conduct appropriate QA testing
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Regular supervision and oversight required
  • Adherence to performance review and goal setting process
  • Proactively working with manager to identify training needs to expand and improve skills
  • Provide on-the-job training/support to new/other team members
  • Proactively seeks guidance from other team members when needed.
  • Developing ability to apply feedback received to day-to-day work and strives to improve performance
  • Good ability to drive QA project responsibilities from start to finish

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of IT and business/industry work experience
  • 3+ years technical QA experience
