Technical Project Manager/Web Applications

Job Description:

We are looking for a Software Engineer/ IT Project Lead to support and deliver strategic initiatives supporting our clients proprietary web application. In this role the individual will lead small to medium sized Projects to enable solutions in our CRM division. This individual should be highly motivated with excellent analysis and execution skills. In this position, team work and networking with business partners and cross-functional IT team members is a necessary skill. The individual should enjoy working in a fast pace, high visibility and impact environment. The position is a part of the R&D Development Operations team, partnering with Information Systems, and our external providers to provide operational support for the production and web-based server infrastructure for the application. The primary focus will be a part of a team that is a 24x7 support organization for the application. Supporting our Application will include: taking tier 2 escalations from the customer service teams, proactively monitoring the infrastructure, responding to alarms, and working out root cause and resolution via triage teams.

  • Leads the implementation and roll-out of new applications and functionality from intake through to implementation.
  • Leads the team to deliver project(s) on time, budget and to desired business partner requirements and specifications.
  • May lead multiple projects simultaneously
  • Creates, documents, and manages project plans, tasks, and deliverables; identifies dependencies and resource requirements.
  • Identifies, communicates and manages low to medium levels of technical risk.
  • Assures identification of process and technology opportunities for improvement that will best meet customer and company requirements.
  • Assures that the solution is tested and successfully implemented, including working with vendors and other IT team members to execute project testing and implementation activities.
  • Assures quality of business systems through development and execution of test plans, test case specifications and ensuring proper resolution of issues. Assures that test metrics document plan vs actual test results. Works with quality assurance analysts to improve quality processes.
  • Assures the team resolves issues related to business use of implemented systems or processes by working with systems or process owners and other project teams to find acceptable solutions.
  • Responsible for cross functional communication and presentation
  • Responsible for accurate and timely entry and reporting of project metrics.
  • Identifies areas for process improvement and establishes effective and efficient processes.
  • Provides input to functional managers on team and team member performance
  • Continuously improves process and work methodologies by interfacing with peers/cross-functional groups and analyzing activities to improve workflow and work processes.
  • Understands customer's business implications and incorporates understanding into technical and process improvement recommendations.
  • In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
  • Provides support for development, test, and production applications. Experience in application development methodologies.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 2-5 years' experience in project management or information/software technology
  • Prior experience running projects required, if possible, experience with website applications
  • Medical device, life sciences industry background preferred
  • Experience in regulated environment
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle and methodologies
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams on projects, including working with off-shore and geographically dispersed teams
  • Understanding of:
