Project Manager

Top Daily Responsibilities:

  • Manages all aspects of large scale and/or multi-center research projects. Large projects are usually multi-year, with a budget in excess of $200k annually and hundreds of participants at multiple sites, or involve highly complex data collection on a smaller number of participants.
  • Resolves policy, research design and administrative issues and problems.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management/operations of complex research projects. May be responsible for hiring and supervise research associates/assistants or other research staff.
  • Prepares grant proposals, presentations, and other project materials.
  • May coordinate the work of programmers/analysts.
  • Manages IRB and other regulatory approval work

    Prepares progress reports independently and collaboratively.

  • Develop and execute complex project plans.
  • Manage the day to day operations of assigned projects.
  • Manage implementation pilots, including supporting the development of project proposals and preparing and managing budgets.
  • Coordinate, manage, and participate in regular project leadership and project working group meetings.
  • May co-author scientific papers with the investigator for publication.
  • May interact with senior client leadership, national experts, state and federal agencies, research teams from other organizations.

Basic Qualifications/Years of Experience

  • 5 or more years of Project Management Experience in a related field
  • Experience developing and executing complex project plans
  • Experience in meeting management and facilitation


  • Bachelors Degree Required

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of molecular biology, and/or intermediate level of understanding of Genetics and Genomics.
  • Demonstrate effective communication, consulting, and interpersonal skills.

Job Description:

The client Research Bank Translational Readiness Core (TRC) Project Manager will assume primary responsibility for managing and supporting the Translational Readiness Core and ensuring that the TRC implements and evaluates strategies for increasing the implementation of client data into clinical care. This includes providing support for leadership in engaging with key clinical, research, and patient stakeholders, developing strong relationships with clinical partners, and identifying projects and data with a high likelihood of impacting the care delivery system. The TRC lead will also help manage client-related projects and work to develop and implement pilots on behalf of the client. One key project aims to understand the readiness of client physicians for implementing genomics and precision medicine into clinical care and learn about members' understanding of genetics, their experience with genetic testing, and their preferences towards return of genomic research results. Degree in life sciences preferred.
