Our client is in need of a Project Manager to manage various IT Security projects and initiatives in support of the overall Security Program and HIPAA Risk Assessment Remediation. This will be a 12 month project in Sacramento, CA.

The plan will be comprised of technology projects and process and policy initiatives and tasks that are related to IT security. Many of these will relate to remediation of a HIPAA risk assessment. The Project Manager will be responsible for developing project plans, timeline, and providing a regular status update to the Program Manager and IT Leadership.


- Experience with large scale project management required.

- A minimum of 8 years project/program management experience required.

- Ability to perform project management, communication, and high level project budgeting required.

- Experience scheduling, leading and documenting meetings are required.

- Strong organizational and follow-up skills required.

- Ability to create reports and briefs for senior management (using Microsoft Office suite) required.

- Knowledge and experience in the area of IT audit, risk management or compliance is preferred.

- Experience in IT Security tools implementation such as data loss prevention (DLP), wireless intrusion prevention, mutli-factor authentication (MFA), and CounterMeasure.

- Experience in an academic medical center preferred.

- Experience with IT Security initiatives and environment in a healthcare environment, preferred.

- Experience with Infrastructure initiatives and environment in a healthcare environment, preferred.


a. Lead the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of information systems in support of IT Security projects.

b. Work with various IT Teams, Compliance, and other related groups to manage IT Security remediation projects.

c. Develop documentation on policies and processes to meet IT Security and Compliance requirements based on the HIPAA Risk Assessment.

d. Work closely with vendors on project planning and system implementation.

e. Independently schedule, lead, and document project meetings.

f. Consult with Program Manager, IT Leadership, and stakeholders to ensure project is in line with overall Security and HIPAA Risk Assessment Remediation Program.

g. Manage action items, issue logs, and deliverables from vendors and internal staff.
