OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:   Project Manager II leads BITS internal projects; develops and maintains project management metrics; and assists with other Operational Excellence practices associated with service/process/portfolio management.  Through effective and efficient communication, manages and facilitates complex projects, overcoming anticipated obstacles and blocking issues.



  • Determines best-fit framework to deliver project objectives

oAgile: Establishes agile techniques such as Scrum and Kanban; collaborates with Product Owners by fulfilling a Scrum Master role; plans and manages sprints, daily scrums, and sprint reviews; maintains/facilitates release plan, sprint backlog, scrum board, definition of done gap, burndown chart, retrospective, test plan, etc.

oTraditional: Creates and maintains comprehensive project plan, project scope, goals, resource requirements, risk analysis, test plan and communication plan.

  • Plans, monitors, elicits, analyzes, validates and communicates project needs, delivering to plan

  • Works closely with Senior Management to establish quality criteria and monitor project quality

  • Anticipates, identifies, and mitigates potential project issues before they arise

  • Facilitates project meetings / agile events to align the team around project goals

  • Plans, tracks, measures and visibly communicates project metrics, project information and status to managers and other stakeholders

  • Evaluates and assesses project results

  • Establishes and maintains standards and templates for project documentation

  • Ensures projects and activities adhere to institutional guidelines with regards to safety and regulatory compliance

  • Assists with maintaining, documenting, maintaining and reporting the project portfolio, IT metrics, service portfolio and IT processes and procedures.



  • BS in Computer Science, Business or other technical discipline with 7+ years of related experience, or Master's with 4+ years of related experience

  • Experience running infrastructure projects within IT

  • Demonstrated high level of expertise and comfort in managing to objectives and negotiating with a cross functional, collaborative team to effectively deliver on project goals

  • Knowledge of and experience with ITIL principles and project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.

  • High aptitude in problem solving, analysis, visual modeling, critical thinking, risk management, facilitation, documentation and customer service excellence

  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast paced, demanding user environment

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
