A growing Engineering Consulting firm is looking to hire a Project Engineer/Construction Engineer for their Transportation division in Orlando, FL. You will focus on CEI (Construction Engineering & Inspection) FL DOT projects throughout the state of Florida. You should expect to travel up to 10% of the time. *** Salary is commensurate with experience ***

Responsibilities for the Project Engineer

  • Work as the Lead Project Administrator (PA)/Construction Engineer and direct & coordinate activities of several disciplines on a Transportation (roadways & bridges) CEI project of moderate scope or a combination of smaller projects
  • Serve as the technical advisor, providing senior-level input and evaluation regarding Construction Engineering Inspection project work
  • Assist with the business development efforts of a new geographical market sector based in Central Florida focusing on transportation owners like DOT, Turnpike, Expressway Authorities and Municipal
  • Assist on proposal efforts on technical writing and reviews
  • Assist in the development of a marketing capture plan for the market in general and drilling down to specific market sectors
  • Assist in the development and execution of a Florida Transportation CEI Business Plan
  • Assist in coordination and management of work once it is awarded
  • Support the overall Florida Regional Office in the development and resource coordination between other Global Practice Divisions

Requirements for the Project Engineer

  • You need 5-15 years of direct experience as a Project Engineer/Construction Engineer related to Transportation CEI projects in the state of Florida
  • BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering from accredited program (the client may also consider a BS or MS in Construction if you have relevant experience)
  • PE License is a plus
  • You need the ability to lead or assist with senior field inspection duties
  • You need experience writing & reviewing proposals for Transportation CEI projects in the state of Florida
  • You need to have training and/or certifications from the Florida Department of Transportation's (FDOT) Construction Training Qualification Program (CTQP)
