Role: Program Manager II

Duration: 6 Months



  • Senior PM will deliver impactful projects/programs as assigned, and serve as change agent driving adoption of PMLC across the organization.
  • Responsible to provide leadership, direction, prioritization and structure to enable efficient implementation of assigned projects and initiatives
  • Responsible for directing the implementation of strategic planning, leading and directing all aspects of a major, diverse, and highly complex programs and deliverables impacting the operation
  • Owns hands-on delivery of programs
  • Provides specialized technical aviation knowledge or equivalent, program management expertise, business acumen, political savviness and leadership skills to facilitate the identification and management of all interdependencies and areas of risk
  • Will adhere to the Cient's Program Management Life Cycle framework and all policy, procedure, guidelines as applicable


  • 50% - Lead and manage projects as assigned, both tactical and strategic
  • 40% - Deliver high quality artifacts and outcome through all phases of PMLC including Envision, Design, Build, and Activate as needed to realize measurable business results
  • 10% - Assist team members and research operational and performance data to provide statistics, trends, and reporting that inform leadership steering and decision-making, and as assigned


  • Undergraduate degree in business, technical, or aviation related discipline require
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Project Management (PMI) Certification (Preferred)
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Preferred)


  • Experience managing multiple large, complex projects across multiple functions
  • Proven expertise successfully managing business and technical resources under an integrated project plan to ensure the alignment of resources
  • Experience presenting, escalating, and providing solutions to senior leadership
  • Demonstrated experience delivering measurable business benefit through project execution
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in facilitating, delegating and motivating cross functional groups or activities
  • Exposure with change management/facilitation, enterprise communication and training
  • Highly organized, and the ability to multi-task competing priorities
  • Provide leadership, guidance, influence and mentoring for project teams
  • Experience with process/system mapping and analysis
  • Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • Demonstrated experience in political navigation
  • Proven project management experience
  • Experience working within SDLC/PMLC and a track record of delivery
  • Microsoft Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project proficiency


  • 7+ years work experience
  • 5+ years managing projects
  • Demonstrated successful project delivery using fundamentals of PMBOK practices/methodologies
  • Demonstrated successful execution using SDLC, PMLC, DMAIC or DFSS methodology
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
  • Has discretion in making tactical decisions; provides input on strategic decisions to management as required. Decisions and achievement of results could have a significant impact on the group's overall performance.
  • Effects could be long-lasting; expected to be creative to develop high-impact changes in processes or strategies.
  • Ability to work with cross functional groups required
  • Project: Mobile application for frontline employee devices that will allow text, chat, and later migrating to a push-to-talk feature
  • Will also provide real time, proactive flight information and a running list of events in regard to pre-boarding/departure
  • Planning to roll this out this year
  • Need a PM to provide leadership, political savvy, meet deliverables and target goals

Project Specifics:

- Enterprise initiative to develop a mobile application for frontline employee devices that will allow text, chat, and later migrating to a push-to-talk feature

- App will also provide real time, proactive flight information and a running list of events in regard to pre-boarding/departure

- Planned to roll out in 6 months to a year (currently in process of road mapping)

Ideal Candidate:

- Need a PM who is solution-oriented, but also process-oriented with strong business acumen and **political savviness**

- 5+ years' combined business and technical PM experience required

- Operations background preferred (airline, retail, call center, etc.) to understand the speed needed to resolve issues for operational efficiency

- Demonstrated ability lead cross functional teams of 12+ members, work with 5+ groups of stakeholders, and manage budgets of $2M

- Intermediate experience with MS Project required

- Strong listening and communication skills, both written and verbal

- 5-10% travel
