Product/Program Manager's primary purpose is to support program by steering them to success and navigating the complexity of delivering software consistently in large environments. This role will have a strong focus to deliver value by managing program level processes, execution, and continuous improvement. In this role, the Product/Program Manager manages the product throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with delivery teams to deliver products. Responsible for identifying and assessing product opportunities in order to build the right product at the right time. Also, responsible for presenting and advocating product opportunities to the executive level for further investment. This role will also work with user experience groups to ensure products are created in a user-friendly way.

  • Facilitates the coordinated preparation of incremental release planning
  • Provides program and incremental release transparency
  • Delivery and deployment coordination
  • Provides coordination of major feature releases and ongoing delivery of value to customers which may involve multiple teams and other programs
  • Resolve or escalate issues involving risk or dependency management that may be hindering the program's ability to deliver features
  • Drives continuous improvement throughout the program
  • Assists with execution of the product vision

  • Works with Operations and Product Delivery teams to ensure operational requirements are implemented
  • Provide thought leadership in the design of new processes and interactions to enhance the overall customer experience.
  • Maintains product expertise allowing detailed conversations regarding functionality and results achieved using product features.
  • Leads committee responsible for designing and prioritizing features for the program

Position Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree plus 8-10 years' direct work experience in the information technology field with product/program management including SDLC experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience to include management, status reporting, and issue/risk management.
  • Proven experience managing large scale programs at large companies in the information technology industry.
  • SAFe Program Consultant 4 (SPC4) certification preferred
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification or equivalent preferred.

Technical Understanding Skills

  • Ability to evaluate and design technical offerings
  • Ability to understand the implications of different technical choices and is able to guide program to the best solution for the project
  • Strong understandings of Agile methodology and its use in a scaled model

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

Duties are performed primarily in an office setting. Travel to attend meetings and visit locations throughout the country may be required. Operate computer and standard office equipment such as telephone, copier, and printer. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
