Product Portfolio Manager and Scrum Master

Job Summary
This role leads teams in the delivery of software products using scrum frameworks. Applies methodology that supports the integration of changing customer inputs and business conditions into software development. Works with product owner to define and prioritize outcomes. Ensures the application of agile frameworks to the software to increase effectiveness of software development. Leads daily scrum meetings, iteration reviews and maintains backlogs. Identifies and may remove roadblocks to software development.

Job Responsibilities
  • Performs as the Scrum master for multiple Scrum/Kanban teams, with a focus on guiding the teams towards improving the way they work.
  • Leads teams in the delivery of software products using scrum frameworks. Applies methodology that supports the integration of changing customer inputs and business conditions into software development. Leads daily scrum meetings, iteration reviews and maintains.
  • Works closely with Product Planning, Product Development and Technology groups to plan and deliver releases. Works with product owner to define and prioritize outcomes. Ensures the application of agile frameworks to the software to increase effectiveness of software development.
  • Organizes and facilitates project planning, estimation sessions, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives and other Scrum-related meeting.
  • Ensures Agile (mainly Scrum/Kanban) concepts and principles are adhered to, and you are also seen as the voice of reason and authority.
  • Identifies, tracks and solves impediments and may remove roadblocks to software development, protecting the teams from interruptions and distractions.
  • Assists with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
  • Improves the productivity of the teams in any way possible, within Agile/Lean principles.
  • Provides coaching/mentoring to team members on Agile practices and processes.
  • Provides and ensure that relevant metrics have been formulated and are being utilized for the correct purpose.
  • Empowers the teams to self-organize.

Basic Qualifications
Basic Qualifications

  • BachelorĂ¢€™s degree and at least 2 years of experience working on a team that utilizes agile methodologies OR a High School Diploma/GED and at least 5 years of experience working on a team that utilizes agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Scrum/Kanban and other agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures
  • Experience facilitating discussion and conflict resolution
  • Experience managing customer/stakeholder expectations
  • Experience facilitating workshops
  • Experience understanding technical issues at a high level
  • Experience working with diverse teams and/or personality types
  • Experience with an agile methodology during a large scale, complex new development project for a large enterprise
  • Experience working in a dynamic and timeline sensitive work environment
  • Experience using analytical and project management skills
  • Experience working on a team and building cohesiveness within that team
  • Experience in indirect management of team members, including assisting in the development, training and assignment of work/projects to other team members.
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

  • Preferred certification as Certified Scrum Master (CSM) as granted by the applicable certifying body/institution
