Job Description

The Product Manager for the Wholesale and Securities Authorized Provisioning Point (APP) is a key role required to develop and run the APP. The APP strategy is part of the larger top-of-the-house Data Environment Transformation Initiative to establish strategic data platforms to collect, organize, and distribute data with consistent architecture, processes, and governance. APPs use a combination of big data, data warehouse, analytics, and data distribution technology which need to be managed as a cohesive product. The Product Manager needs to run the APP like a business playing the role of an owner of that business.

The primary responsibilities are to
1) Maximize business value of the product to clients
2) Understand how the product is built
3) Be a voice of users
4) Drive strategic planning and delivery prioritization.
Additionally, in order to have the APP operate like an efficient business in all aspects (e.g. Client onboarding, Financial Reporting, Work Prioritization, etc.) the Product Manager must drive the operating model, define key roles, and work with senior management to put them in place.
Specific responsibilities of this role include:
1) Liaise with and educate clients on product mission, strategy, offering, to understand client needs
2) Develop and ratify multiyear product roadmap
3) Coordinate requests and approval of funding
4) Drive definition of the product
5) Ensure APP strategic architecture and services meet client needs and align with their business strategy
6) Drive design and establishment of key operational processes for work prioritization, client delivery reporting, yearly strategic planning
7) Act as the primary client for core product capabilities prioritize and monitor delivery
8) Understand and compare product to other industry offerings (vendor and competitors)
9) Escalation point for Clients

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of product management experience, product development experience, or a combination of both
  • 5 + years of experience creating and implementing strategic plans and roadmaps at the executive level for enterprise wide business initiatives
  • 5+ years of capital markets experience
  • 5+ years of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) experience
  • 10+ years of product management experience
  • 5+ years of product strategy development experience

Desired Qualifications

  • SQL experience
  • 5+ years of experience with SAS or SQL, or other data management, reporting and query tools
  • Knowledge and understanding of data trade data management for reporting and quantitative analytics
  • Big Data experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of project coordination: client interface, data management, reporting, review, and analysis
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in engineering
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in business administration, economics, accounting, finance, or other business related field
  • A Masters of Business Administration (MBA)

Other Desired Qualifications
  • 15 years of relevant experience, working with business, operations, and technology teams
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills. Experience creating presentations which synthesize multiple data points to tell the story at a senior level (e.g. Managing Directors, Business Line Managers, CTOs).
