Job Title: Product Manager

  • The Product Operations Program Manager will be responsible for the development and launch support of the company business services. Primary responsibility will include Internet and Networking products sold to via Wholesale channels. This position requires the candidate to possess a strong technical and reporting background/education in broadband services.

    Performing this role involves spearheading successful implementation of new products/services, and subsequent product/service enhancements across systems, in accordance with the existing product development and product launch methodology. This includes; Project Management duties of task management, action plans, launch and/or implementation timelines and activities; as well as assisting Product Development in business process development and documenting M&Ps for new products introduced on the network. Experience in reporting and analysis of product operational metrics is preferred.

    Primary Responsibilities Include:

    • Perform day to day interaction with Product Development and Product Management on products, enhancements and initiatives being developed and launched.
    • Partner with Markets and Product Operations resources and lead a successful launch of new products.
    • Creation of operational requirements and operational M&Ps (i.e. Tier I/II/III support, installation and field services) for new internet gateway product
    • Execute project planning process to support the implementation of products, enhancements and resolution of cross-functional operational support issues.
    • Communicate major milestones and identify potential project risks; conduct regular status meetings to review project activities; manage prioritization procedures
    • Facilitate ad hoc analyses and product/project post mortems in order to gauge best practices.
    • Takes responsibility, including performing user acceptance testing for changes to applications software and systems environments supporting company products, to ensure that these changes to the environment have been properly tested and adequately coordinated.
    • Reinforce escalation and service level agreement procedures with internal and external issue resolution teams.
    • Ability to facilitate and work with large cross functional teams in a matrix organization.

  • Requirements:

    Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Experience with delivering internet and networking services over a Hybrid Fiber Coax network preferred, DOCSIS 3.0/3.1
  • Experience with Wholesale/Carrier service delivery and fulfillment processes
  • Routing, switching and CoS/QoS technologies such as VLANs, DiffServ, ToS, MPLS
  • Installation and troubleshooting experience with network monitoring tools, edge and CPE equipment - cable modems, WiFi access points, routers, Ethernet switches, security devices like firewalls and boarder controllers Strong operational process, OSS and BSS experience as they relate to ordering, provisioning, and billing of Internet and Wi-Fi services
  • Experience creating documentation in Word and PowerPoint format to explain operational and installation processes Analysis and reporting skills with Excel, Tableau, Six Sigma, etc. Willingness to travel - 25% Education / Certifications
  • Familiarity with Packet Cable and DOCSIS 3.1 a strong plus 5-7 years of product operations and/or technical operations experience in the telecommunications industry required.
  • CCNA or WIFI related Certification a strong plus
  • Bachelors of Science or Bachelors of Art degree required, Master's Degree or equivalent experience in telecommunications and engineering a plus
  • Project Management experience managing numerous projects/initiatives simultaneously in a matrix organization required Strong presentation and communications skills a must, including experience tailoring and presenting communications and recommendations across organizational management levels Previous consulting experience with a leading consulting firm or Sales Engineering experience a plus Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite, with emphasis on Visio, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
