Position Summary: The Principal Embedded SW Engineer is responsible for leading the technical development of complex embedded software, signal processing and algorithm solutions. In this capacity, the ideal candidate should have strong embedded SW architecture development skills coupled with experience in digital signal or image processing and associated algorithms. Must have expertise implementing highly efficient, embedded software designs. The candidate must also be a strong communicator with the ability to mentor, lead and delegate development work to team members.


Specific Duties:



  • Develop and release SW Architecture and SW Designs from existing models and requirements
  • Develop and document radar signal processing software solutions and associated advanced radar features from existing models and requirements
  • Lead SW Development tasks for embedded SW, and associated data and signal processing algorithms and mentor / delegate work to team members
  • Comply with SW Development Standards and Business Conduct Requirements
  • Optimize signal processing software for latency and frame rate on a multi-processor DSP ECU
  • Ensure requirement compliance and timeliness for radar platform development efforts
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.


Education, Experience and Skills Requirements:



  • Required
  • BS in Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • 10+ years related work experience in embedded software development for real-time systems
  • Expert in C and/or assembly programming of microprocessors, DSPs and micro-controllers
  • Experience in drafting/releasing SW Architectures and Designs
  • Experience in development of computationally intensive algorithms for DSPs
  • Ability to develop and debug low level embedded software (OS / drivers)
  • Experience with Matlab development
  • Experience working in formal development methodologies such as CMMI or ASPICE
  • Configuration management and version control experience
  • Good oral and written communication
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Desired
  • Experience with ETAS and development for Aurix based processors a plus
  • Experience creating software development processes and work instructions a plus
  • Experience in the Automotive industry a plus
  • Experience with tools such as LDRA, QAC, Jenkins, Make.
