The Project Manager, Strategic Talent Sourcer will serve as a critical component to executing Discover Financial Services's Talent Acquisition and Sourcing strategies by serving as an expert networker and talent market knowledge bank for the enterprise. Using internet-based platforms and traditional sourcing techniques, the Project Manager, Strategic Talent Sourcer is responsible for building pipelines of pre-qualified talent for current and future positions throughout the enterprise. Utilizes internal and external networks and referral sources, industry publications, etc., to identify and attract top talent to Discover. Furthermore, this individual will represent Talent Acquisition to internal and external stakeholders, manage third parties, and deliver solutions to fulfill recruitment and other talent projects.

  • Delivers high-quality, pre-screened, active, and passive candidates. Works with recruiters to develop and execute sourcing strategies to meet overall recruiting goals and build talent pipelines based on Business Unit workforce planning.
  • Identifies candidates using multiple techniques, including cold calling into competitors, online databases, social media websites, Boolean keyword searches, job boards, contact lists, networking, employee referrals, etc.
  • Evaluates candidates and make recommendations to hiring managers and other stakeholders.
  • Sources passive candidates through extensive name-generation research, relationship building, complex internet searches, and existing talent pools.
  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing work, based on business needs and deadlines.
  • Collects, manages, and reports on project and talent market data/metrics. Obtains talent market intelligence and provides ongoing feedback to recruiters based on market realities, accompanied by supporting data and metrics.
  • Maintains excellent understanding of a variety of sourcing tools and is adept at evaluating and managing timing and appropriate use of each. Researches and adopts innovative tools and approaches to sourcing efforts.
  • Develops social networking contacts via groups, social media, association contacts, etc.
  • Creates and delivers content to increase visibility of the Discover Employment Brand.
  • Maps target organizations and builds organizational charts based on research and discussions.

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here's what we need from you:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, or a business-related field
  • 2+ years of experience in Sourcing, HR Consulting, Operations Management
  • In lieu of a degree, 4+ years of experience in Recruiting, HR Consulting, Operations Management

Preferred Qualifications

If we had our say, we'd also look for:

  • 6+ years of experience as Executive Recruiter, Sourcer, Full-Cycle Corporate Recruiter
  • AIRS certification
