Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk.We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk and market risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

Enterprise Information Securitys (EIS) vision is to provide Wells Fargo world leading cyber security risk management. Through a framework that addresses policy, process, operations, people, and technology, EIS protects Wells Fargos infrastructure, corporate data, and customer assets, and ensures alignment with applicable regulations and laws. EIS is part of Wells Fargo's Corporate Risk organization and is led by the Chief Information Security Officer.

NOTE: This position can sit in any core Wells Fargo location but Charlotte, NC is the preferred work location.

The Cyber Threat Management (CTM) team has responsibility for developing & continuously improving cyber security capabilities that mitigate the organizations exposure to Advanced Persistent Threats (APT), Advanced Evasion Techniques (AET), Hacktivism, cybercrime, and other categories of online attacks targeting the financial services industry. CTM has been developing a cyber-focused big-data/analytical platform that fuses telemetry from multiple security tools and technologies with threat intelligence & enrichment in order to identify advanced threats and to help understand our operating environment.

The candidate selected for this opportunity will be responsible for working with the CTM leadership team, various engineering teams, and the architecture communities across Wells Fargoto define specific strategies to design, develop, and implement CTMs big-data, analytical, and other custom developed systems that align with CTMs mission. The candidate will also ensure that the selected strategies are compliant with current and planned enterprise standards, and are extensible to accommodate future needs with minimal re-engineering.

The candidate will be a technical expert, innovator, and strategic thought leader within the network security technology engineering discipline. The candidate will assume a position that will be regarded across the Wells Fargo enterprise as the highest level technical expert in the identified area of expertise with responsibility for developing standards and enterprise-wide best practices. The candidate will be responsible for engineering complex, large-scale technology solutions to address highly complex and typically cross-organizational issues, while maintaining broad knowledge of other technology engineering disciplines and partnering with other key experts to ensure we are making the right technology choices for Wells Fargo.

The position will require the candidate to translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions.

In addition, the position will:

Act as an expert resource for architects in the development of target architectures to ensure that they can be properly designed and implemented through sound engineering practices.

Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations and/or provide a competitive advantage to the organization.

Provide expert counsel to senior technology leadership and advises and mentors others with the goal of knowledge transfer.

May represent Wells Fargo to external industry groups, influencing industry standards.

Position will report directly to the manager of the Cyber Threat Management group.

Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of technical engineering experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • 10+ years of HTML (HyperText Markup Language) experience
  • 10+ years of secure SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) methodologies experience
  • 5+ years of Big Data experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of information security principles, policies, and procedures
  • Knowledge and understanding of banking or financial services industry
  • Knowledge and understanding of data security controls including malware protection, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, content filtering, Internet proxies, encryption controls, and log management solutions
  • Python experience
  • Hadoop experience
  • SOA (Services Oriented Architecture) experience
  • Agile experience
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in information technology
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in engineering
  • Ability to identify and manage complex issues and negotiate solutions within a geographically dispersed organization
  • Ability to present complex material in a digestible, consumable manner to all levels of management
