Our Fremont NovaSensor facility is an R&D site that designs MEMS based pressure sensors for multiple industries for mid to high volume applications. The successful candidate would need to design and contribute to every aspect of launching a product from inception to production. A strong background in volume assembly techniques and practices as well as industry quality initiatives would help complete the cross functional engagement needed to fully deliver on this role.

Qualifications:

  • BS, MS or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or related fields.
  • 5+ years of experience with mechanical packaging design and development, preferably in automotive market segment.
  • Duties to include detailed part/assembly drawings with appropriate use of GD&T using SolidWorks
  • Solid understanding of standard NPI release process and typical requirements
  • FEA experience using ANSYS preferred
  • Experience with FMEA's, DFSS & DFM tools and implementation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).Responsibilities will include
  • Create product documentation using our standard release procedure
  • Generate information needed for complete technical design review as needed
  • Interface either with customer or cross functional teams as needed to deliver on project deliverables
  • Help define assembly line and equipment requirements
  • Interface with vendors and suppliers as needed to deliver on overall team project
  • Propose and develop new packaging techniques and processes as needed to keep pace with changing industry demands
  • Build and test initial prototype concepts and testing of those assemblies to collect data needed to gain confidence for product release. (this would include hands on type lab work)
  • Design test fixturing needed to test new designs as needed
  • Perform failure analysis to understand changes needed with design and/or root cause
  • Support Legacy products already in production as needed
  • Conduct periodic benchmarking of designs, materials and processes.
