Job Description

IaaS Cloud Engineering is seeking a senior level engineer to join its Cloud Operations team. The right person must be comfortable being at the forefront of a rapidly innovating cloud offering with a DevOps approach to provisioning across the enterprise.

The candidate must understand the value of partnership, thinking creatively, and be passionate about Infrastructure as Code. Successful candidates should have well-tested, stable releases as part of a software development lifecycle; be self-motivated, a problem-solver; and should be comfortable providing guidance to less experienced staff.

Engineers in this role must be capable of handling multiple, concurrent requests with precision and care, capable of working quickly and supporting a culture of continuous improvement.

Uniquely, this role requires managing Open Source Databases like MySQL. There should also be experience building and maintaining infrastructure using IaaS Cloud technologies like OpenStack, including patching, security, compliance, high-availability, monitoring and alerting, firewalls, networking, storage, server virtualization and node clustering in a primarily Linux platform environment.



Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of operating systems analysis experience, operating systems engineering experience, or a combination of both
  • 5+ years of Linux administration experience
  • 1+ year of JIRA experience
  • 3+ years of build-deploy automation and configuration experience within the Linux and Unix environment



Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • 3+ years of MySQL experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology server: virtualization or partitioning
  • 1+ year of OpenStack experience
  • 3+ years of virtualization technologies experience
  • 1+ year of Puppet experience
  • 1 + years of Confluence WikiD experience



Other Desired Qualifications
  • Strong demonstrated ability or history in identifying opportunities to identify manual processes and automate them.
  • 3+ years of Nagios administration experience
  • Work experience in data analysis of complex forensic log investigation as well as time-series metrics research
  • 3+ yrs of leading high-performing teams under stress and with expectation for delivery
  • 2+ yrs in a highly-regulated Change Management environment
  • Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or related fields

  • Flexibility to work in a 24/7 environment, including weekends and holidays
