Responsible for providing accounting support for internal and external customers by performing complex operational accounting activities associated with annual audits, corporate contribution and dividend funding, regulatory reporting, and other assigned projects for the Wells Fargo Corporate Plans.

Duties include: Preparing quarterly and annual reconciliations of recordkeeping and trust activity for the Wells Fargo 401(k) Plan; leading a quarterly meeting with Corporate HR and Finance to review the 401(k) Plan financials; managing all internal and external audit reviews and exams; participating in weekly status update calls with auditors and coordinates all audit review activities; reconciling financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information; serving as primary reviewer of data used for preparation of the annual 401(k) Plan financials and 11-k filing; completing reconciliations and financial statements for the Wells Fargo Cash Balance Plan annual audit; maintaining accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures for process improvement; ensuring that all financial reporting deadlines are met; assisting with special accounting and financial projects. Provide guidance to lower level staff.

Additional Description

This position is within a dedicated team of the Institutional Retirement & Trust (IRT) business that provides recordkeeping and participant servicing for IRTs largest and most complex 401(k) Plan and will have the following responsibilities:

  • Maintain positive working relationships with all client contacts and all internal and external partners.
  • Establish audit and project timelines in order to meet required deadlines
  • Provide secondary review for a number of financial procedures such as the quarterly dividend deductibility report for Treasury, employer match and profit sharing contribution funding calculations, and other assigned projects.
  • Assist with the annual review and updating of procedures.
  • Develop testing and data validation tracking spreadsheets for various projects.
  • Facilitate the documentation and allocation procedures for security litigation settlements.
  • Participate in the collection of fund performance and fee disclosure information for annual regulatory notices.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of accounting experience, operational accounting experience, or a combination of both

  • Audit experience
  • Ability to manage or facilitate analysis of current systems, problem identification, and resolution
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong project management skills

  • 2+ years Retirement Services Experience
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven leadership experience with team members and customers.
  • Accounting background
  • Flexibility in adjusting to changing priorities and ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and take corrective action before there is an adverse impact on deliverables.
  • Detail oriented, strong presentation, judgment, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong MS Office experience including PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Word, and Project.
  • CRSP, ASPA, or CEBS designation.
