Who We Are

The Wells Fargo Technology Enterprise Information Technology (EIT ) Global Delivery Risk (GDR) team responsible for driving the execution and comprehensive view of risk across the EIT group by instilling a risk management culture where businesses are accountable for understanding and managing their Global Delivery Risk. EIT GDR is organized to provide first-line-of-defense risk management support to drive the execution of the EIT Global Delivery Risk Management Program support our EIT partners.

What we are looking for

The primary role of the Operational Risk Consultant 3 position will be to support the EIT Global Delivery Risk function and the EIT Global Delivery operational risk program. A strong background in operational risk management, and the ability to work across a large complex and highly matrixed organization will be critical.

The selected candidate will focus on the following duties:

  • Manage complex units and provides operational risk support for risk projects and initiatives
  • Manage designs and develops assessment strategies, methodologies and analyses; evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems and internal controls; analyzes business and/or system changes to determine impact, identifies and assesses operational risk issues and assigns risk ratings consistent with established policy standards
  • Reports findings and develops business cases to influence senior management on the need for controls to mitigate risk
  • Coordinates production of periodic operational risk performance reports for senior management, including trend analysis and recommended strategies
  • Partners with EGS & EIT RM Compliance teams to support regulatory reviews, audits and other compliance activities as developed and defined
  • Manage complex business units and work with EGS & EIT RM risk partners to provide technology risk expertise and consulting during global technology projects and initiatives
  • Collaborate with corporate risk functions to ensure appropriate connectivity to corporate risk initiatives
  • Identifies training opportunities; may provide input to the development of training materials and delivers training.
  • Contribute to the development of the Global Risk Program framework methodologies and tools
  • Implements testing strategies and methodologies; evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, initiatives, products and internal controls; identifies operational risk issues; advises management on risk ratings and evaluates ratings against established policy standards.


Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both
  • 2+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: additional compliance, additional operational risk management, IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience; or a BS/BA degree or higher in business or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience performing risk assessments

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
  • Ability to work effectively in virtual environment where key team members and partners are in various time zones and locations
  • A BS/BA degree or higher
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to turn preliminary or ambiguous information, ideas, or problems into well-defined plans and solutions
  • Ability to influence and collaborate at all internal organizational levels
  • 6+ years of information technology experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of information security risk assessment or audit



Other Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Wells Fargo risk culture and structure with the ability to navigate
  • Previous experience and knowledge about the EIT organization and how to navigate the various teams
  • Functional knowledge of at least two of the following risk systems: SHRP, Policyworks, Archer
  • Knowledge of CoBiT or NIST frameworks
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Ability to prioritize and reprioritize at a high rate of change
  • Great sense of urgency
  • Certified IT Risk Professional (CRISC), Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Certification in Control Self-Assessment (CCSA), Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT)
