Enterprise Technology Infrastructure/Infrastructure Technology Services/Infrastructure Management Services ETI/ITS/IMS

We are a team of engineers that architect, deliver, and provide 2nd level support for enterprise logging of machine-data into Splunk. We are one of the largest implementations of its kind, and our service supports security, application teams, operations, and governance functions within the bank. We design and deliver solutions to make use of vast quantities of data in order to enrich decision making across the enterprise. This is a rapidly growing area and we require well-qualified Splunk ninjas to help us continue to support the demands of the enterprise.

Splunk Enterprise Security SME

Subject Management Expert on the Splunk Enterprise Security premium product

ES design and integration experience in a multiple indexer cluster environment

ES development experience

Deep experience with core Splunk

Experience with other Splunk premium applications is beneficial

Splunk Infrastructure/Application Engineer

Practical experience with architecting/expanding/upgrading multi-TB ingest Splunk environments that make heavy use of indexer and search head clustering across multiple data centers supporting collection of all generated machine data

Splunk premium product familiarity

Strong infrastructure background - servers, networks, capacity/utilization management

Splunk automation

Practical experience with maturing workflow through automation and self-service solutions

Experience with automation tools like Chef, Ansible, puppet

Experience with code management tools like Subversion, git

Provides technical consultation and support in the development of computer applications and programs. Analyzes business requirements, designs and writes technical specifications to design or redesign computer solutions. Develops original and/or complex code or provides coding guidance to less experienced staff. Leads and/or performs modeling, simulations, and analysis efforts. Verifies program logic by overseeing the preparation of test data, testing, and debugging of programs. Participates in overall systems testing. Leads the migration of applications and configurations to production. Develops new documentation, participates in the development of department technical procedures, and designs user guides, playbooks, and other rollout-based documentation. Serves as an escalation point for application support and troubleshooting, provides guidance and direction to less experienced staff in resolution of escalated issues and/or complex production, application or system problems. Provide technical leadership within projects, including ownership and assignment of tasks, and provides direction and guidance to less experienced staff. Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and oversees updating and testing of the business continuation plan.

Preferred locations: AZ, MN, IA and NC. Will consider other locations.

Required Qualifications

7+ years of operating systems analysis experience, operating systems engineering experience, or a combination of both3+ years of Splunk experience3+ years of UNIX experience3 + years of experience with Windows server operating systems2+ years of performance tuning experience

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Splunk administration (running an existing instance) application design, architecture, and installation experience within a large enterprise environment (across multiple sites, extensive clustering, high availability, and data redundancy)
  • Experience in gathering customer requirements, analyzing them, and delivering an appropriate implementation through Splunk, or Splunk applications
  • Premium Product experience Enterprise Security (ES), IT Service Intelligence (ITSI), User Behavior Analytics UBA), and HUNK (big data)
  • Experienced with efforts to automate data/feed onboarding into Splunk, including self-service mechanisms
  • Bulk packaging and deployments of Universal Forwarders to various OS platforms
