Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Red Hat OpenShift Integration Engineer on the Engineering team, you will collaborate with IBM & 3rd party product teams to successfully integrate offerings into the IBM Marketplace catalogue and platform. You will provide consultancy to the product teams on the containerization strategy, technical integration, deployment, testing, certification, and support of their marketplace offerings for trial and purchase. You will help these teams drive the value of their solutions with clarity and consistency, as well as guide them through the required steps to achieve their goals.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Bridging the gap between the external vendor teams and the IBM Marketplace teams.
  • Providing expertise and support between the product teams and the various IBM organizations supporting and delivering Open Marketplace.
  • Exhibit strong communication, vendor management, problem solving and time management skills to handle these complex situations effectively.
  • Travel to North American customer locations, with likelihood of 15 - 20%.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
At least 3 years of experience with the following skills are required to be successful:
  • Expertise with container-based platforms (Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with Cloud offering and marketplace ecosystems.
  • Skills with deployment to container-based platforms using Helm, or deploying OpenShift Operators created using the Operator SDK.
  • Experience debugging deployment and operational issues (profiling, logging).
  • Expertise interacting with, building, and exercising APIs and using automation frameworks.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work directly with customers and partners.
  • Flexibility and comfort with traveling up to 25%.

    Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
    The following technical and professional expertise is preferred and will greatly enhance your success on the team:
    • Bachelor's degree in either Computer Science, Information Management, or other related IT discipline.
    • Experience with Marketplace concepts, development / testing of components like product pages, marketing content, commerce, subscription management and provisioning, auto-provisioning related configurations, customizations and development.
    • Expertise working directly with customers or partners, providing technical support or technical guidance.
