Job Description

This position is a senior level technical role that will assist with maintenance and support of the production and test infrastructure and system for the Wells Fargo IAM system, built on the Oracle OIM software, a java-based Weblogic solution. The candidate should have experience working in corporate environments directly with large complex java Weblogic application configuration and support, web hosting with multiple server tier levels, and application and server level clustering and load balancing. This position will require the candidate to follow corporate policies regarding security, documentation, audit and change control processes. Candidate will be one of a small team of on- and offshore engineers to assist with maintaining the availability and performance of the production and test systems.

  • Duties are varied; candidate will be responsible for all of the following:
    • Engineer for the IAM support team with direct communications with application development teams, business partners, and end users
    • Assist with planning, design and build out and support of IAM server environment
    • Deploy and configure multiple IAM application modules
    • Manage web logic application servers and all related tasks for the application
    • Research, plan, and perform upgrades, patches and fixes for environment, with close involvement with the vendor
    • Provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff in resolution of highly complex technical problems
    • Assist with creation and collection of key system metrics
    • Assist with creation and collection of key processes to collect application and system log data and proactively investigate
    • Assist development team with design and integration of many and varied data sources and continued support and monitoring processes of these feeds.
    • Assist in or create new process and policies to streamline and insure better support and maintenance of the IAM application, associated web sites and middleware applications and their integration into the new and existing systems environment.
    • Utilize data transfer and ETL technologies and methods to integrate with existing systems.
    • Gather performance statistics to assist in determining requirements needed to support projected transaction volumes, response time and system availability targets.
    • Work with Oracle and other vendors to troubleshoot and configure environmental issues.
    • Provide performance tuning analysis, recommendations for OS or application level issues
    • Identify gaps and single points of failure in current technology process or design
    • Perform developments, upgrades, installations and/or configurations in all environments
    • Analyze and provide quick determination of issues and resolutions and be able to communicate these clearly and concisely to all levels of management and technical and non-technical team members.
    • Create, Update and maintain all aspects application specific troubleshooting documentations and runbooks along with training / knowledge transfer to other team members.
    • Create, Update and maintain all aspects of application specific build / configuration documentation along with training / knowledge transfer to other team members.
    • Develop automation for repetitive tasks.
    • Ability to understand and troubleshoot network, hardware and software issues and coordinate resolution with users, vendors and internal service groups.
    • Creates change or issue logs.
    • Ensure quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area
    • Perform capacity planning and proactive expansion of platform
    • Execute daily maintenance tasks and proactive review of the production environment
    • Will require some off hour support for system changes and issue investigation and coordination with offshore team
    • Work on-call schedule and work tasks for team
    • Work problem ticket queue and ensure all assigned problem tickets, Work Orders, and Work Requests are completed on time and to satisfaction of requestor.

      The preferred work locations are Charlotte, NC and Chandler, AZ. Preference may be given to those candidates that either currently live in or are willing to relocate to one of these locations with no relocation assistance. Other locations will be considered for OIM-experienced candidates.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of web systems environments experience
  • 5+ years of Weblogic experience
  • 5+ years of application production support experience
  • 5+ years of Red Hat Linux or UNIX experience
  • 5+ years of Apache experience
  • 3+ years of Oracle Identity Management experience
  • 3+ years of experience working in an application development or infrastructure support technical team
  • 3+ years of experience deploying applications and patches using SCCM in an enterprise environment
  • 3+ years of Microsoft Windows server or Desktop Operating System support experience
  • 3 + years of Networking experience
  • 2+ years of LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) experience
  • 2+ years of SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) Internet security protocol experience
  • 2+ years of MS Active Directory experience
  • 2+ years of NAS experience
  • 2+ years of relational database experience
  • A BS/BA degree or higher

Other Desired Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience with the installation, configuration, implementation or administration of middleware application server installations on Red Hat Linux or Unix environments Experience supporting any Oracle Identity Management solution, i.e. OIM, OAM, OBIEE Reporting tool.

  • Experience with Single Signon SSO technology (Siteminder)

  • Extensive experience supporting critical production environments with high availability, load balancing and/or fail over support.

  • Prior Wells Fargo experience and knowledge of various support groups (Unix OS support, etc) a huge plus

  • Ability to show and explain troubleshooting of middleware applications in large multi-tiered environments

  • Ability to setup and support MQ Messaging services

  • Ability to provide release planning/scope/migration

  • Ability to run batch commands, scheduled jobs, and review output, logs, etc. on Unix platform

  • Ability to work full time during US business hours

  • Ability to travel for project meetings to various US states

  • Ability to work with vendors onsite for application setup and configurations

  • Ability to work in high pressure, enterprise class situations and environments

  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams across multiple levels of the organization
