Your Role and Responsibilities
  • As a Network Subject Matter Expert, you will be assigned to various projects acting as a technology lead for implementation, troubleshooting and support of IBM network infrastructure components deployed and managed for various IBM clients.
  • Your network expertise will be shared with projects and delivery teams through configuration patterns that you will create, document and implement together with network specialists teams, through direct coaching and skills transfers through-out the project implementation phases.
  • You will create and update technical documentation for deployed technologies such as operational model diagrams, inventories, technical procedures, presentations and other documents used by IBM for managing customer environment in scope
  • You will also occasionally support resolution of Major Incidents to assist in driving IBM/vendors to resolution of major incidents within the network domain.
  • You will participate to investigation and resolution of high impact network issues in case, given complexity or nature of the incident, L2 and L3 seek SME support for a specific skill or technology.
  • Throughout the investigation, you will be expected to communicate with IBM and customer teams and representatives in order to present investigation state, direction and next steps planed by IBM team. At closure of the incident you will participate in root cause analysis documentation.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- CCNP (certificate required) or higher proven experience
- 5+ years of L3 or SME work experience in managing and troubleshooting of complex network environments
- Excellent knowledge of network solutions integration - specialization in several of the domains:
  • DC technologies and architectures Cisco Nexus, Juniper EX and QFX platforms, LenovoSD-WAN and legacy
  • WAN technologies: Cisco Viptela, Fortinet FortiGate, VMware VeloCloud, Juniper Networks Contrail, Nuage VNS, etc.
  • Software define networking/Network function virtualization (ACI, NSX, OpenStack, SD-Access, Meraki)
  • Security technologies: Cisco, Checkpoint, Juniper enterprise security platforms and associated management automation solution: Tufin, Algosec
  • IP services: F5 Networks
  • DDI: EfficientIP, Infoblox, BlueCat
  • Network management: Solarwinds Orion, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, Splunk Enterprise, Nagios XI
- Extended experience in enterprise networks support
- Flexibility, ability to travel occasionally



Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- CCNP or CCIE R&S/Security/Datacenter certification or certifications.
- Multi-vendor technologies: Cisco, Checkpoint, Juniper, VMware, Lenovo
- Subject matter expert knowledge of various areas of networking, specializing in Routing/Switching/Security/VoIP/Wireless/Other
- University degree in IT
- Experience in working in ITIL/ITUP environment
