The Defense group supports the Department of Defense (DoD) mission to keep our homeland and its citizens safe. We provide solutions to improve the Nation's defense by providing software, systems engineering, IT, training and logistics and fleet management solutions.

Responsibilities

The Network Operations Lead shall:

  • Perform as the contractor lead supporting monitoring, status reporting and coordination of actions to troubleshoot and respond to incidents on the AFCENT enterprise network.
  • Lead and supervise a diverse team of technical professionals responsible for supporting the AFCENT enterprise network.
  • Perform as the contractor technical lead for the management of network performance and end-to-end service quality for the Network infrastructure. Review and analyze overall end-to-end network performance in order to maintain an acceptable level of network quality of service and develop and implement recommendations rapidly when quality of service falls below acceptable thresholds.
  • Aid in the assessment and selection of the network performance and management tools/systems for existing and new network technologies and services.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures to respond to unplanned service/network interruptions and outages.
  • Identify trends that may lead to service or network disruption and recommend actions to mitigate impact.
  • Review technical project documentation for final draft coordination and subsequent release. Includes assisting personnel with project documentation and web site development as needed.
  • Collaborate with government stakeholders, teammates and other contractors to meet all mission requirements efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide expert technical analysis and direction to optimize mission performance while minimizing program risks.
  • Help ensure program compliance with all government laws, policies and regulations and directives.
  • Institute and maintain industry best-practice standards, processes, and methodologies.

Qualifications

Required experience and qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience supporting federal government programs either in government or as a contractor.
  • 5+ years of experience as a network engineer.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance or a final TS clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or other related engineering or technology degree.
  • CCNP, or equivalent, or higher-level network certification.
  • Active certification in one or more of the following: MCSA, ITIL Foundation.

Desired experience and qualifications; it is desired that the candidate meet one or more of the following experience requirements:

  • CISSP or other DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification
  • CCIE
  • Masters degree in an engineering discipline, computer science or information technology.
