Aid in gathering of business, functional, and technical requirements. Investigate and understand the current network environment. Research, evaluate, and select component and service vendors. Define metrics to evaluate network design performance. Determine specific components and services to procure for successful implementation. Provide aid in build and testing, component and assembly. Develop Technical Procedures and Policies documentation. Support investigating and understanding the current network environment. Assist in evaluating gaps in environment and creation of network designs to meet requirements. Define and execute testing plans, component and assembly. Create configurations for components based on designs. Develop Installation and Configuration Guides documentation. Issue purchase orders for materials and services, as appropriate. 5-10 years of experience


Network Engineer-3+ years potential This position is responsible for the design, implementation, testing and documentation of complex data voice and video network solutions. This position requires a thorough understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VOIP and firewall technologies. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who exceeds with little supervision and works with small teams using Agile engineering principles. Job Description: - Plan, design, test, implement and continuous improvement of enterprise data, voice and video network solutions. - Maintain accurate diagrams and configurations for all network devices. - Prepare engineering job packages consisting of detailed parts / equipment lists, and appropriate documentation (drawings, network diagrams, configurations, etc.). - Ensure cost effective design of systems with the ultimate goal of meeting business needs and providing reliable and efficient service to the customer. - Prepare and submit cost estimates for planned installations where required. - Maintain familiarity with current data, voice and video networking technologies. - Procure, turn-up, and troubleshoot both private and public WAN circuits. - Collaborate across the IT organization to provide end-to-end solutions. - Work in an Agile engineering environment on team based projects and assignments. Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university plus a minimum of five years of experience in Information Technology with at least four years of design and support of Cisco Systems' products. - In lieu of a degree, a minimum of ten years of experience in Information Technology with at least five years of design and support of Cisco Systems' products. - Understanding of communication technology and fundamentals. - Ability to work well within a team; good interpersonal relational skills. - Effective verbal & written communication. - Experience in coordination with multiple groups, companies, and people simultaneously. - Demonstrated ability to work productively with little direct supervision. - Demonstrated organizational and time management skills - Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks. - Strong interpersonal skills to support successful performance in a team environment Desired Qualifications: - Cisco Certifications CCNA, CCDA desired. CCNP, CCDP, CCIE preferred. - Experience with network hardware/software solutions: Cisco routers and switches, Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco ACS, Cisco wireless controllers and APs and Cisco VPN concentrators. - Experience with designing communications solutions for SCADA systems. - Experience in the following technology areas: TCP/IP, Cisco IOS, Layer 3 Switching, RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, GRE, HSRP, GLBP, IPSEC, SSL, AAA, SNMP QOS/class of services, VoIP, Network Management Practices, Load balancing, VPN, Wireless Networks, Avaya phones systems, Cisco phone systems, Cisco Unified Communication Manager, and Cisco/Tandberg Video Conferencing Systems. - Experience with network capacity planning, network security principles and general network management best practices. - Understanding of TIA/EIA & BICSI wiring standards (IEE568 A & B wiring standards)
