job summary:

The systems programmer analyst will be a member of the Currency Administration Systems team, reporting to the project leader. The CA Systems team conducts complex projects of high and medium scope relating to share class hedging, currency hedging, including data integration with internal upstream processes, and external third parties/vendors.

The systems programmer analyst will be the primary systems owner for the business requirements on his/her assigned projects. They will:

Establish and maintain productive working relationships with the business team on FX/Currency Administration and engage them in a dynamic process to clarify and elaborate upon the business requirements they provide, and translate those business requirements into effective systems requirements and functional designs.

Act as the primary subject matter expert within systems for their projects. Address questions about requirements and functional designs raised by the other developers, and translate technical concerns for consideration by the business.

Ensure that the business and systems requirements are tested properly and that defects are identified and tracked. Conduct checkpoint meetings, maintain near term project plans, and communicate status to project participants.

Responsibilities

  • Develop clear, concise methodology documents, which require proficiency in interviewing skills, workflow analysis, dataflow diagramming, screen design, etc.
  • Design, code, unit and system test any new requirements/change requests prior to UAT.
  • Maintain issue logs; coordinate and support communications surrounding both systems and user acceptance for assigned project(s).
  • Manage application design through the various lifecycle stages from business need through design and delivery.
  • Design, development and delivery of effective business applications
  • Coordinate with vendors to incorporate their products into requirements, design and testing wherever applicable.
  • Facilitate the definition of functional requirements by working with other programmer analysts and users in prototyping and design sessions.
  • Translate and present project concepts into effective visual images which clarify design elements and issues for both business and technical audiences.
  • Conduct data analysis via SQL to solve problems and facilitate designs that can be used by him/her self or other programmer for coding

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science or related work experience required.
  • Knowledge of Share Class Hedging/Currency Hedging/Foreign Exchange (FX) or other trading markets is big plus.
  • Must have at least 8+ years of experience implementing systems, with 4+ years in the financial services industry
  • A minimum of 7+ years of working experience with Java/J2EE/JEE
  • A minimum of 2 + year of working experience with JSP, Servlets
  • A minimum of 2+ year of working experience with Spring, Spring MVC, Hybernate, JPA
  • A minimum of 1 + years of working experience with HTML, CSS, Angular JS or equivalent JS frame work.
  • A minimum of 1+ year of working experience with JQuery, JSON or comparable JS framework.
  • Working knowledge of frame work like Hibernate, Camel would be plus.
  • A minimum of2+ years of experience writing ResTful and SOAP webservices.
  • Working knowledge with Websphere Application server is required.
  • Strong SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle is required, must have experience in building SQL queries, stored procedures and must understand basic principles of data modeling
  • Strong Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Conduct data analysis through multiple upstream and downstream processes
  • Must be skilled at writing specifications that other programmer can use to code data interfaces, user interfaces and workflows
