Permanent position: Interesting MANUFACTURING ENGINEER opportunity at a highly regarded manufacturing firm near Memphis, TN. Need BS Degree in Engineering Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial or other relevant discipline, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with 3D CAD modeling experience. Growth opportunity in state-of-the-art Additive Manufacturing. Includes relocation.

Responsibilities for the Manufacturing Engineer

  • Responsible for ensuring the proper production in terms of technical specifications, cost, quality, time and accuracy. Evolve into serving as Technical expert for customer and internal organization in the case of materials, coatings, and assembly application
  • Collaborate across manufacturing and engineering to determine if design is manufacturer or how to improve its manufacturability. Take ownership from concept to completion of manufactured beta model and then full production
  • Work with manufacturing technicians in a collaborative mode but also expediting progress and completion and anticipate the next steps
  • Interface with customers to evaluate their desired designs, review design and tolerances, and if not reasonably manufacturerable advise client and collaborate on what changes are needed
  • Manage vendors for outsourced specialized machining
  • Support production cost quotation and related feasibility studies. Project leadership to continually decrease manufacturing costs

Requirements for the Manufacturing Engineer

  • BS Engineering in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or maybe Industrial (also possibly in Chemical or material engineering)
  • Minimum 1 to 2+ years experience preferably in manufacturing, A PLUS to have experience in Medical, Industrial gas turbine, aerospace industry
  • Must have knowledge of CAD 3 D modeling, A Plus if with Solidworks
  • Must be computer savvy in learning new design software and able to use CAD, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to document technical details and quality evaluations, write procedures and perform and document validations
  • A PLUS to have ANY of: (a) Additive Manufacturing experience, (b) CNC programming experience, (c) medical device manufacturing experience, (d) experience working with commercial customers and resolving commercial business issues, or (e) experience on the production floor in any type of manufacturing
  • Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
