Wells Fargo Asset Management Luxembourg (WFAML) is recruiting for a unique opportunity that encompasses two primary roles. The first is to serve as WFAMLs managing director.In this capacity, the incumbent provides leadership and day-to-day oversight of WFAML staff in Luxembourg, serves as point of contact for the CSSF and represents WFAMLs strategic plans and business results to EMEA-based partners:

  • Direct all WFAML functions and staff, building a high-performing team that partners effectively across Wells Fargo, delivers against business plans, and effectively manages risk.
  • Develop and maintain a sound organizational, administrative, and control environment within WFAML at all times.
  • Serve as the CSSFs recognized responsible person as general manager of the Management Company.
  • Participate in the development of strategic plans, three-year business goals, and annual incentive program objectives.
  • Facilitate and oversee the WFAMLs global distributor function, supporting market analyses, expansion of distribution agreements, and relationships with key sales partners.
  • Support implementation of WFAML Brexit strategy
  • Serve as Wells Fargo Asset Managements senior brand ambassador and local representative within Luxembourg.
  • Maintain productive relationships with local regulators, industry associations, lawyers, auditors, and other service providers.
  • Promptly alert senior management, regulators, auditors, and business partners of all risk, compliance, or financial control issues.

The second role is to serve as one of two WFAML conducting persons. Together the two CPs form a management committee to jointly oversee and ensure the proper conduct of WFAMLs business. The functional responsibilities of this CP position are distribution, fund administration, investment management:

  • Supervise functional delegations to internal partners and external service providers supporting WFAML.
  • Oversee and perform due diligence on the fund administer, transfer agent, domiciliary, depositary bank, and investment manager in coordination with the responsible functional teams.
  • Ensure controls are in place and monitored so WFAML adheres to its obligations under relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Review key performance indicators, customer complaints, valuation results, and sales to ensure effective management oversight.
  • Verify compliance of WFAML-sponsored funds with the applicable investment policies and monitor the occurrence and handling of investment breaches.
  • Build and oversee the global distributor function to support sales through platforms and sub-distributors in EMEA, APAC, and LATAM.
  • Review transaction fees, sales commissions and retrocession payments to ensure conformance with distribution agreements.
