Job Description

The Computer Operations Analyst 2 (COA2) position is a mid-level position for the Back-End Night-Shift (Wednesday through Saturday). This person has the responsibility of ensuring production availability is secure, ensuring problems are resolved as quickly as possible, reducing impact to our customers. The COA2 will frequently interface with EACO Availability Center, the Mainframe/Midrange (MMO) Manager, and the Infrastructure Operations Manager, as well as all the other Operations disciplines.

Responsible for operational management of the Mainframe Operations environment within the Wells Fargo technology production environment. This will include interpreting monitoring alerts and resolving or coordinating resolution of routine production, application, and system problems to ensure that related service commitments are met. Assists with bridge-lines as required. Escalates issues to management. Contributes to, and follows procedures and operational best practices. Reviews, updates, or assists with daily operational documentation for shift transition as well as processing procedures/documentation within the command center for production processing and backup/contingency. Responds to customer inquiries, opens, documents, resolves, and closes problem records.

The position will be filled on Back-End Nights in Tempe, AZ.

The work days and hours for this position are: Wednesday Saturday - Night Shift (Three 12 hours days and from 7:00pm to 7:30am ET and one 4 hour day, specific time TBD.



Required Qualifications

  • 1+ year of computer operations experience



Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • 1+ year of Mainframe experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology production support: for medium to large applications
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology production support: management of problems and resolving issues
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology support: troubleshooting technology issues with software applications
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology production support: fast paced dynamic customer facing application which requires high availability
  • Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of team members and management
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology help desk support: problem resolution management for technology bridge line calls
  • Ability to develop and negotiate solutions to issues with partners or clients including escalations as needed
  • Customer service focus with the ability to listen to customer needs and recommend solutions
  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
  • An AA/AS degree or higher in information technology
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills



Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience utilizing best practices for Event, Incident, Problem and Change Management
  • Knowledge of monitoring and troubleshooting tools (Netcool, PAC2000, etc.)
  • Committed to continuous improvement and learning all aspects of the environment
  • May be required to travel between Command Centers


Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
  • Flexibility to work in a 24/7 environment, including weekends and holidays
