Title: Mac Technology Support Specialist II


Location: Chevy Chase, MD


Duration: 6 months contract with possible extension or hire


Summary:


The Mac Tech Support Specialist II's role is to support computer operation for scientific research, administrative and operational groups using a variety of hardware and operating systems (primarily Macintosh and Windows) in an Enterprise environment. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving a wide range of help requests. Problem resolution will involve the use of diagnostic and ticketing tracking tools, as well as require that the individual give in-person, hands-on, customer service oriented help at the desktop level.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  1. Integration, lifecycle, management, and support for Macs and iOS devices in an Enterprise environment.
  2. Build, test & maintain various MacOS and OS X images for imaging and deployment.
  3. Build & manage Utility Disk images that runs via NetBoot used for troubleshooting, cloning & fixing computers.
  4. Create and maintain Knowledge Base articles.
  5. Conduct regular testing of new OS', applications, and Apple-related technologies.
  6. Build end-user's dual-boot/VM machines to run multiple OS's (Windows 7, Windows 10), using VMWare Fusion/Parallels.
  7. Maintains desktop/laptop, resolves hardware/software issues, installs regular patches & updates.
  8. Use AD to grant permissions to access to various resources.
  9. Project lead for Apple-technology related upgrades and deployments.
  10. Manages configuration profiles and policies to administer permissions and restrictions.
  11. Administers TeamViewer Corporate, Office 365 and DropBox accounts.
  12. Provide advanced technical assistance via telephone, e-mail, updateable FAQS, and Wikis, with on-site visits to our internal customers
  13. Process automation using Jamf and other automation tools
  14. Mentoring our IT Technicians and acting as an escalation point for any complex issues
  15. Primary point of contact and support for Sr. Leadership and Executives


Preferred Qualifications


Education:



  • Bachelor's Degree or four years related work experience including experience with personal computer hardware and software configurations, installation, maintenance, and support in an Enterprise environment.
  • Related desktop support certifications a plus: Apple Certified Mac Technician (ACMT), Apple Certified iOS Technician (ACiT), Certified Casper Technician (CCT), Certified Casper Administrator (CCA)


Experience:



  • Knowledge of computer hardware, primarily Apple and PC.
  • Extensive experience with primarily Mac OS and Windows.
  • Jamf & Casper experience is a plus.

  • Frequently reaches and grasps with arms

  • Frequently uses hands for repetitive data entry
  • Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are few physical discomforts due to dust, dirt, noise and the like
  • Frequently lifts and/or carried objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Must occasionally work long hours and during weekends or holidays as required to support desktop systems and conference center meeting requirements
