The Lead SDET reports to the Senior Manager of Quality Assurance and will play and key role in supporting QA’s testing and automation efforts as well as our broader transformation to a more agile organization. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creates, modifies, tests and executes automation of comprehensive test scripts
  • Ensures test automation development is delivered and executed in a timely manner and are quality products
  • Ensures testing results are created in a standard automation execution report
  • Maintains all aspects of software automation test objects, including hardware maintenance and version control
  • Ensures automated test objects are maintained properly and kept up to date
  • Performs other responsibilities as needed
  • Follows company policies, upholds professional standards, and performs all work in a manner respectful of others
  • Provides support to product teams to ensure the development of quality deliverables are properly planned and delivered

  • Defines which test cases are suitable/appropriate for automation
  • Develop and extend testing frameworks/extensions as needed to support new test cases and applications
  • Creates, debugs and executes automation test scripts as part of an automation test suite in a timely manner
  • Tracks and documents enhancements and defects discovered while executing automation test scripts
  • Analyzes daily test results for failures and logging (or automatically logging) appropriate associated defects
  • Communicates activity status and issues clearly and effectively to managers and co-workers
  • Analyzes results and develops improvements for future testing iterations
  • Assists in developing and supporting Dine Brands Automation standards
  • Provides assistance to less experienced SDET's in a team- based environment including conducting code reviews of their work
  • Coordinates and controls the automation testing activities associated with assigned products
  • Seen as an expert on SDET processes, concepts, methodologies and frameworks
  • Assists managers in the planning and execution of appropriate technical activities
  • Provides leadership and guidance to less experienced SDET and Sr. SDET's as well as manual QA testers in a team- based environment
  • Provides support to product teams to ensure the development of quality test related deliverables are properly planned and delivered
  • Performs other responsibilities as needed

Requirements

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, technology or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
  • 7+ years of experience in a SDET role developing and enhancing robust test automation platforms
  • 7+ years of experience in a SDET role developing and enhancing robust test automation platforms
  • 5-7 years of experience with application performance testing
  • 5-7 years of experience developing automation using Java and/or Python (Java preferred)
  • 5-7 years of experience testing cloud hosted services and REST API’s
  • Expert in all aspects of testing strategy, planning, process definition, test data management and defect management
  • Expert level knowledge and capability with Automated Test Tools and concepts such as Selenium/WebDriver, Appium, Cucumber, SOAPUI, TestNG
  • Demonstrated experience in database technologies and concepts (e.g. SQL Server, MySQL)
  • Experience with Agile and Waterfall development methodologies and supporting tools (Jira, Confluence, GitHub, etc.)
  • Prior experience as a SDET leader strongly preferred
  • CSTE Certification preferred
  • Strong proactive communication, with great attention to detail and focus on execution
