Purpose of Position:



  • Understand business objectives and priorities and develop source services and solutions that meet the unique requirements of the business. Play an advisory role in system/functional design.
  • Follow Scrum framework as part of a cross-functional team to build our next generation technology platform. Current scope includes replacing legacy systems as part of an MVP effort and add new functionality to facilitate future business and product offerings.
  • Must be hands on in your day-to-day duties with an enthusiasm for technology, particularly with software development and a focus on quality.
  • Ability to quickly gain expertise in a topic or technology that candidate may not have prior experience with already
  • Implement requirements using established or proposed technology stack for the Mid-Office platforms and produce high-quality, extensible solutions
  • Follow secure coding standards, develop automated tests, participate in code reviews and build / release activities
  • Collaborate with Business Partners, Business Analysts, Solution Design Consultants, and Architects to clarify and document software requirements
  • Participate in Scrum activities and in all aspects of being part of an agile team
  • Continuously learn and improve skills to establish and cultivate an organization of technical excellence


Key Requirements:



  • Proficient with Java based technologies and frameworks (Java 1.8, Spring, Maven) and best practices of OOP design / patterns, code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration.
  • Familiar with SVN and Git version control systems and branching / merging strategies.
  • Experience with persistence systems like SQL Server, Oracle, and Elastic Search
  • Knowledge or experience with concepts like distributed logging, SOA, API design and consumption, cloud (Azure), and system automation is a plus.
  • Ability to work in an early stage transition to agile following the Scrum methodology to understand business requirements and design / deliver in an iterative fashion.
  • Experience with Web Services Development including Restful API development and interacting with SOAP services with JSON/XML responses.
  • Experience in reverse engineering legacy systems to extract functionality / requirements when necessary
