Laboratory Information System Administrator


Job Purpose & Key Responsibilities:


- Assist in managing the implementation and support of all laboratory systems


- Ensure maximum system uptime and reliable daily data backups.


- Provide ongoing process improvement, risk assessment and mitigation plans.


- Maintain viable disaster recovery plan.


- Maintain and enhance voice recognition capability within the LIS.


- Assist in implementing and managing the integration of the interfaces from the LIS to other information systems and laboratory instruments.


- Create, maintain and enforce policies, procedures, documentation, validation plans and test scripts in accordance with regulatory standards.


- Prioritize, allocate and schedule resources to maintain project goals.


- Serve as first line support. Promote and maintain high quality technical support for our internal and external customers.


- Resolve daily hardware and software issues in timely manner


- Ensure timely and accurate Laboratory test result availability.


- Manage system upgrades and development with laboratory staff, vendors, related departments, IS and management as required.


- Provide routine and project related training for Laboratory, IS and other staff.


- Maintain active role in LIS support groups, special interest groups.


- Assist with file build and maintenance in all lab systems.


- Take call as it relates to the lab systems.


- Maintain highest level of professionalism. Develop and maintain good relationships with all hospital staff, vendors and others.


- Accepts other responsibilities

Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.


Qualifications


- Strong enterprise architecture experience from the medical industry, with effective delivery of application and infrastructure solutions to multiple global locations as well as remote sales force


- Experience with development and delivery of business and client solutions


- Team oriented with the ability to exert influence without formal authority in a global environment


- Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills


- Analytical approach to problem solving and project management


- Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to understand and communicate complex technical information to an audience of varying skill levels


Strong customer service orientation


Additional Preferred Qualifications:


- Information Systems experience in a laboratory environment preferred.


- Medical laboratory technology certification preferred.


- Proficiency with SQL, Oracle and Microsoft databases. Microsoft Office suite, Dragon Naturally Speaking is a plus.


- Demonstrated interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.


- NovoPath strongly preferred


- WindoPath preferred
