The analyst will incorporate both credit analysis and debt pricing considerations into a comprehensive recommendation to the Infrastructure Investment Committee, to enable the committee to decide to invest in the transaction or to reject it. Coverage will include investment grade and high yield issuers, and senior and mezzanine debt, mostly in developed markets. The Junior Analyst will review periodic reports provided by the companies (projects) in which Wells Fargo Asset Management has made investments. The Junior Analyst will review any requests for amendments made by borrowing companies, and in coordination with the infrastructure team, recommend to the Investment Committee if these should be accepted or rejected.

Key Responsibilities:
Analyze Investments

  • As part of the investment team, undertake detailed transaction due diligence, including the review and analysis of financial, legal, commercial and technical reports. Undertake risk grading and analysis of relative value utilizing the approved methodologies.
  • Assist in preparation of investment proposals to present to IC.
  • Assist in execution of transactions.
Asset management
  • Ongoing review of financial and operating performance of all assigned assets, including meetings with management and liaising with the agent, lenders counsel, and wider lender group.
  • Periodic formal credit review of each transaction.
  • Assist to evaluate waivers, consent requests, divestment proposals and other investment and sector specific issues.
  • Remain informed of key risks and opportunities facing the sector and business and share learnings with the rest of the team.
  • Contribute to portfolio credit reviews, client/fund updates and preparation of investor material.
  • Demonstrate strong risk management and strict adherence to all guidelines, policies and procedures.
Fund raising / new business
  • Assist to reply to investor due diligence questions.
  • Assist in preparation of marketing materials for prospects.
Credit and infrastructure market knowledge
  • Keep informed of key developments in the infrastructure and credit markets and ensure dissemination of information to the wider team.
  • Attend seminars and other training to supplement knowledge as required.
